We are offering a part-time freelance contract opportunity that will contribute to our Chicago area (west suburban) marketing and event agency's success with marketing/communications support through marketing strategy, planning and various internal and external projects. Most of our clients are well-known Fortune 500 companies, and we are always expanding our client portfolio. We are eager to reach our goal of growing by 30% per year over the next five years. Your work will contribute to that achievement.
- Annual hours are estimated at 500-1,000 depending on our clients' projects and business activity in a given year.
- Compensation rate is negotiable, based on the individual's overall experience and capabilities.
- Work can be done virtually after orientation and training.
- Accountability is to the company president.
Primary Responsibilities
- Marketing our company
- Basic marketing research and positioning
- Perform marketing audits, initially and as needed going forward
- Website content analysis and copy writing
- Develop sales collateral (digital and print) and sales presentations (PowerPoint)
- Develop white papers
- Email marketing
- Develop content marketing strategy
- Design blogging calendar and write blog posts
- Public relations planning and implementation
- Social media strategy and management
- Digital media buying
- Client marketing and communications
- Proposal preparation - various formats
- Sales presentations
- Collateral production management - includes copy writing and working with graphic designers and printers
Essential Functions

Required Experience, Skills and Education
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or a related field
- 5+ years of relevant experience with progressively increased responsibility
- Strong writing skills including a working knowledge of proper grammar and exacting standards for accuracy
- Demonstrated business etiquette at both personal and electronic levels in a multi-cultural, multi-level environment, both internally and externally
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to successfully coordinate key relationships and projects across the organization and externally
- Professional demeanor so as to represent the company in the best possible light when attending clients' or other external events
- Ability to successfully plan, implement and complete project plan/action plan tasks, in addition to contributing to the preparation and coordination of the plans
- Team collaboration
- Effective time management, particularly with regard to meeting deadlines
- Flexibility to work a non-traditional schedule at times (not as a general rule), including evenings and/or weekends, to meet project requirements
- Confidentiality, when necessary, for the benefit of a client or the company
- Event marketing experience is a plus but not required
