 About the Role

The Senior Public Relations Manager is a key member of Alloy’s PR team, as well as a critical part of specific client account teams. In this role, he/she/they is responsible for supporting clients’ brand awareness and market validation programs by developing stories that resonate with key stakeholders and building strong relationships with key media outlets, bloggers, analysts, and industry influencers.  

 

The Senior PR Manager possesses knowledge of the client’s audiences, key messages and solutions, and as such, guides engagement strategies and prioritization of proactive program initiatives and identification of appropriate PR channels and contacts. 

The Senior PR Manager will work closely with PR Associates and PR Managers on account-specific strategy, tasks and deliverables; providing strategic guidance, critical thinking and thoughtful review. Likewise, the Senior PR Manager will work collaboratively with Account Director and/or the Senior PR Director roles to ensure client initiatives are strategic and representative of Alloy’s high-caliber work. 

In addition, the Senior PR Manager plays a pivotal role in the development of content that supports outbound engagements and communications such as PR strategy, pitches, press releases, award submissions, contributed articles, social posts, briefing documents, clip reports and QBR slides. 

 The Details of the Senior PR Manager
  • Gain a deep understanding of a client’s brand, business and industry.
  • Develop and manage client PR plans and ensure they are aligned to client’s overall objectives.
  • Serve as a trusted PR advisor to the client contact. 
  • Play a leading role in creating media storylines and angles that will position the client/client SMEs as a thought leader in the market.
  • Gain a deep understanding of Alloy PR solutions and evolving marketing trends. 
  • Be a client and/or industry subject matter expert! SMEs are an important part of driving client outcomes and client retention. 
  • Work closely with the PR Manager or PR Associate to lead media outreach initiatives and manage relationships between the business and local, national, and international media.
  • Develop content, storylines, and written materials (such as press releases, media advisories, pitches, bylined articles, internal comms materials, etc.) that are tied to the client’s PR strategy/plan.
  • Execute elements of a client’s PR strategy/plan; as well as guide execution that is done by PR Manager or PR Associate. This may include:
    • Media relations
    • Content development
    • Speaking abstracts/award submissions
    • Influencer relations
 Skillset Needed:
  • You’re authentic, bold, passionately curious, accountable, radically candid and agile.  
  • Understand how market trends, client environment, goals & objectives influence and inform a PR program.
  • Experience working with account-specific PR team members to build, execute and report on results of a PR strategy/plan with minimal oversight from senior management.
  • Excellent writing and content development skills.
  • Existing relationships with national and trade media/publications/reporters; experience pitching and securing media placements.
  • You are familiar with PR and project management software such as Meltwater, MuckRack, PRWeb (or similar wire distribution and media monitoring software) and Basecamp (or similar project management software).
