The Head of Marketing at AVANT will spearhead the marketing strategy and execution across the company, focusing on developing and promoting the positioning of AVANT's innovative IT solutions and services. This role combines strategic leadership, team management, and hands-on execution to enhance brand recognition, market leadership, and customer engagement. The Marketing leader will bring extensive expertise in technology product marketing, aligning marketing efforts with AVANT's vision of innovation and commitment to customer satisfaction. A key objective of the position will be to develop a strong working partnership with the sales team.

Key Responsibilities:


Product Marketing: In partnership with Sales, Product Management, and other members of the leadership team, the head of Marketing plays a lead role in defining and articulating the core value proposition of the business, its products/services, and the pricing strategy associated with our offerings. This role will be the liaison between product management and sales, translating product features and differentiators developed by product management to language that helps the sales team engage with the target customer or prospect base. Specific responsibilities include:

• Understanding customer needs and bringing that intelligence back to the rest of the company

• Assessing how and why existing customers use the product or service, and applying this knowledge to refining the AVANT value proposition

• Integrates the various elements of AVANT’s offerings from different functional groups, including Product, engineering, support services, etc., into a coherent AVANT’s value and pricing proposition

• Delivers the tools and resources to support the delivery of the AVANT value proposition in the form of presentations, marketing materials, TA training, webinars, and enablement framework. These tools should support sales in the lifecycle of their TA engagement, from recruitment through enablement to supporting business growth to establishing lasting loyalty


Brand Strategy & Implementation: The Head of Marketing is responsible for building and maintaining a strong brand presence in the marketplace, communicating the value of the brand in meeting customer needs and requirements, and developing the messaging that resonates and reinforces the brand. This role is accountable for determining the ways in which the company wishes to be perceived in the marketplace, developing the ideal customer profile (ICP), and then using these as the basis for developing customer, media, social, website, and other messaging strategies.


Demand Generation: Marketing enables sales opportunities through lead-generation activities and campaigns. Specific responsibilities include:

• Obtaining a deep understanding of the company’s ICPs, how they think, and what they care about

• Designing and enabling sales with the tools and resources to target and recruit ICPs

• Designing and Developing online lead generation and in presence event and trade show campaigns, handing off marketing qualified leads to sales for further development


Event Management: The Marketing leader will be responsible for hosting a diverse set of over 100 events throughout the year, supporting local Trusted Advisor sales training, recruitment events, customer entertainment events, trade shows, and our annual Trusted Advisor event hosting over 1,500 people. Responsibilities include defining the event strategy and execution, supporting the regional sales teams, as well as tracking and measuring the impact of the event (the ROI).


Loyalty Program Management: The Marketing leader is accountable for developing and implementing a customer loyalty program to encourage Trusted Advisors to continue to conduct their business through AVANT’s portfolio. The current loyalty program is based on sales volumes and has multiple tiers with increasing rewards and benefits at each tier level, culminating in a 5-star presidents club trip.


Marketing team leadership and development: The cultural fit and ability to support and develop their team members is a critical hiring criteria at AVANT. He/she is responsible for:


• All of the people management and development activities, i.e., hiring, coaching, performance managing, motivating, encouraging, rewarding, compensating, succession planning, and building a high-performing team

• Support the team as they engage with other departments

• Continue to develop and maintain a strong existing team culture

• Work effectively with other teams to develop and maintain strong cross-team relationships and collaborations
