What would you do as a Food Service Clerk

What we're looking for in a Food Service Clerk

To excel as a Food Service Clerk at Palolo Chinese Home in Honolulu, HI, candidates must possess a High School diploma or equivalent, along with at least 1 year of experience in the Food Service Industry. A valid driver's license and clear driving record are essential. Proficiency in inventory control, food handling practices, and kitchen safety is required. Fluency in English, basic knowledge of clinical nutrition, and familiarity with computer software such as Excel and Word are necessary. Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

• Must have a basic knowledge of inventory control and purchasing management processes.
• Must understand proper food handling techniques including hand washing and sanitation.
• Ability to utilize general kitchen production equipment (woks, ovens, steamers, grills, dishwasher, steam table, can openers, etc.).
• Must understand proper kitchen safety including the use of sharp and the dangers associated with temperature extremes.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. Must be able to push/pull at least 75lbs.
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English to facilitate proper communication with others.
• Must have a basic understanding of LTC clinical nutrition as far as dietary requirements.
• Demonstrates autonomy, organization, assertiveness, flexibility and cooperation in performing job responsibilities.
• Must be able to use standard and program specific computer software including MS Office.
• Must demonstrate highest standards of customer service.
