Job Description

The Marketing Specialist manages and executes all aspects of the marketing department including brand management, social media marketing, promoting the bank’s products and services, including new product introduction, designing and coordinating marketing campaigns, ensuring compliance with banking/advertising regulations, coordinating internal and external events and community outreach throughout the region we serve, and managing vendors and suppliers. This position provides creative strategy for brand positioning, approach to social media presence and translating analytics into actionable outcomes. the Marketing Specialist works independently to manage and execute responsibilities in the following areas:

Digital and Print Marketing and Photography

  • Design, activate and maintain all internal/external digital communications, including but not limited to website artwork, social media posts, iBanking display banners, mobile banking features, Computershare statement banners, Segmint campaign artwork, branch TV displays, Ignite display, and more
  • Drive the creative elements of the NBSB website, creating and editing imagery, icon development and placement of new graphical elements.
  • Designs, develops, and coordinates production of all internal/external print communications, including branch signs, posters, banners, hand-outs, brochures, stationery, and NBSB Annual Report
  • Act as the lead photographer for NBSB, composing, executing, and delivering corporate headshots, event and promotional photography
  • Responsible for editing, metadata and storage of both custom photography and stock photography

Community Relations

  • Drive the Bank’s brand image and Core Values to local media outlets and community groups in support of local initiatives
  • Recommend donations, scholarships, and volunteer opportunities within annual charitable contributions budget; track expenditures
  • Manage community outreach, including allocation of volunteers for events and participation of NBSB employee groups in multiple chamber events
  • Research and maintain inventory of new promotional items

Media Relations:

  • Write copy for blogs, white papers, press releases, bank news
  • Manage webpage notifications
  • Computershare/COCC statement media advertising
  • Manage electronic signage
  • Plan and execute all social media posts

Website

  • Monthly Review of Website rate tables for details and compliance
  • Add blogs posts and press release to news and community web portion
  • Update Lender and Branch Manager pages with current staffing
  • Update Website media on front page to match season- quarterly
  • All other updates website updates as needed
  • Coordinate on new product implementation

Vendor Management

  • Collaborates with Creative and Marketing agencies to create compelling brand marketing campaigns
  • Partner with Print suppliers
  • Manage Promotional Item Vendors
  • Oversee creation, installation, and maintenance of all Branch signage
  • Manage the relationship with Marketing vendors and advertising agency

Compliance

  • Complete all Compliance review (including UDAAP) on all marketing materials for distribution
  • Conduct annual compliance display audits
  • Ensure document retention for compliance including Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) meeting minutes

Other Duties/Responsibilities

  • Manage and track Marketing and Community Relations budget
  • Collect CRA materials such as donation requests and press releases
  • Manage procurement of branded documents
  • Purchase holiday décor and items as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of marketing experience in both strategy and execution for a financial institution
  • Knowledge and understanding of Deposit and Lending compliance, CRA guidelines and Massachusetts banking regulations
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Cloud products including InDesign, as well as Microsoft Office Suite, and website editing platforms
  • Proven experience in identifying target audiences and in creatively devising and leading across channels marketing campaigns
  • Experience in Social Media advertising including use of Facebook and LinkedIn, Google ads, Microsoft ads, and media scheduling platforms like Hootsuite
  • Creative experience including graphic design and copywriting
  • Proven skills in event coordination, project management, and vendor management
  • Ability to create and maintain annual budget for advertising and community relations
  • Knowledge of data analytics and proven ability to use results to drive outcomes
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly accurate and organized with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal oversight

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field.
  • Experience with COCC operating system and Segmint, HTML/CSS, and knowledge of SEO best practices
  • WordPress website editing experience

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, non-exempt position with work schedule of Monday through Friday.

Travel
Travel between our 6 local branches and the corporate office, weekly or as needed.
