VP of Finance

BIOFerm, a Madison, WI based renewable energy company, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Vice President of Finance to join our dynamic team. In this critical role, you will oversee all aspects of our financial operations, playing a key role in supporting our ambitious growth plans. This role will have responsibility for the preparation and interpretation of financial and job reports for management and external groups. The Vice President of Finance will support the organization throughout the business and project life cycle by contributing to the planning process, analyzing performance and relevant market trends, and providing insights and recommendations for process improvements. Working closely with the CEO, Board of Directors, and upper management/executive team, this individual will also have responsibility for ensuring appropriate data integrity internal controls are maintained, relevant forecasting and financial reporting data is accurate, and budgetary constraints are monitored.
Essential Job Functions:- Oversee all aspects of the company's financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, forecasting, tax planning, and internal controls.
- Provide strategic financial leadership to the company, partnering with the CEO and executive team to develop and implement long-term financial plans and objectives focusing on project profitability and risk management
- Develop and improve upon financial modeling, forecasting tools, and proforma templates to aid in decision-making process
- Manage the treasury function, including cash flow management, debt financing, and risk mitigation strategies
- Coordinate the timely and accurate performance of month-end functions; including preparation/review of reconciliations and financial reports in accordance with GAAP
- Maintain strong relationships with external auditors, lenders, and investors
- Manage a team of accounting/finance professionals, providing coaching and mentorship to develop their skills and expertise
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure regulatory compliance
- Prepare other reporting as needed, including project-specific sub-reports, labor studies, cash flows, ad hoc projections, and other special projects as assigned
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum 5 years of accounting/finance experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role
- Proven experience in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles
- Familiarity with construction, renewable energy, or related industries is a plus
- Intermediate to advanced computer literacy, including Microsoft Office programs and accounting/ERP systems (experience with Acumatica ERP is preferred)
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Self-starter, motivated to learn, and enthusiastic about continuous improvement
- Exceptional organizational, time management, research, and reporting skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Dedicated work ethic and flexibility on hours as required
- Valid US driver’s license
- Must be authorized to work for any company in the United States. Must not require sponsorship, or continued sponsorship to work for any company in the United States
