Our ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can assume responsibility for all aspects of proposal design and development, including preparing the proposal win strategy, gathering and organizing proposal content, and, most importantly, writing and editing proposals and pre-qualification submissions. Excellent writing skills are highly desired. They will also oversee and or prepare the design and production of associated graphics, including covers and layouts, organization charts, and presentations.
Responsibilities:
- Carefully read and understand each component of a client RFP.
- Compile pertinent, compelling proposal sections into a compliant RFP response.
- Read, write, and proofread marketing documents.
- On a daily basis, work proficiently in InDesign Creative Cloud, with minimal direction and support.
- Chair proposal kick-off meetings.
- Using the proposal checklist, ensure each portion of the proposal has an assigned technical writer and ensure writing deadlines are met.
- Support the marketing department with production: printing, binding, mailing, and delivery of proposals.
- Coordinate with the sales and operations staff to create custom marketing material.
- Maintain and update the database of written content.
- Support sales staff by providing formatting and word processing proposals.
- Send introductory marketing brochures to target clients.
- Make phone calls to clients and vendors to coordinate marketing department needs.
Required Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or related field, preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in proposal and presentation development, preferably with an architectural, engineering, or construction firm.
- Ability to independently lead a proposal and be responsible for managing all aspects of that proposal as well as providing overall quality assurance.
- Ability to work successfully with both the sales and operations staff to develop winning proposals.
- Candidate must be highly proficient in Adobe InDesign Creative Cloud, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator proficiency is a plus.
