Job Description

Job Title: LiDAR Acquisition Specialist/ Trainer sUAS Pilot

Classification: Full Time Salary, Exempt

Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000 + Bonus eligibility and Benefits

Reports to: Field Operations Manager

Date: 04-15-2024


Summary:

The LiDAR Acquisition Specialist will assist with calibrations and validations of Phoenix LiDAR Systems, as well as research and development projects. The LiDAR Acquisition Specialist will also train new and existing customers to Phoenix LiDAR Standards for Acquisition from multiple platform types to include traditional crewed aircraft (fixed, rotary wing Aircraft), sUAS, mobile platforms, (SUV’s, Trucks, and Sedans), and SLAM collection, (Backpack, Handheld). You will ensure timely and accurate communication across the organization and to customers as it relates to training, calibration and validation flights. The LiDAR Acquisition Specialist must also work with other departments as needed to include order management team, production, software development, post processing team, and Engineering. Due to the varied nature of this role, the LiDAR Acquisition Specialist must have a wide variety of skills.


Essential Functions:

· Operate LiDAR from Multiple Platforms (Ground, sUAS, Traditional Airborne).

· Train Customers, on LiDAR Fundamentals, Acquisitions, and Best Practices.

· Provide Demo Services to prospective clients.

· Manage a Field Collection Team for Services ranging in Scope.

· Ensure compliance with all company, business, and safety policies.

· Conduct Risk Assessments

· Prepare and evaluate all metrics weekly.

Supervisory responsibilities: N/A

Work Environment: Primarily in office/field setting.

Physical Demands: Extended periods of sitting or standing and computer use, Carrying or lifting 70 lbs. for short periods of time, Driving Long Distances, working around or onboard Crewed Aircraft, Working in Extreme Temperatures for an extended period of time.

Position Type and expected schedule: Full time, On-Site, 8:30am-5:30pm, Monday - Friday

Required Travel: 25-50% Expected will fluctuate based off season and demand.

Requirements

Competencies:

· Flight planning, and Field Operations Management

· Training, and Presenting to a varied client base.

· Ability to understand interrelated processes between different apps, and software platforms.

· Intermediate proficiency in Google Workspace Applications

· Crew Resource Management (CRM)

· Critical Thinking and ability to analyze and solve problems.

· Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills

· Meticulous attention to detail with superb organizational skills

· Ability to work independently, or as part of a team.

· Basic understanding of survey control and equipment

Requirements:

· Minimum of 3 years LiDAR Acquisition Experience

· Part 107 Certificate

· Able to lift and carry up to 70 lbs. for short periods of time.

· 4 Year degree or equivalent experience Degree is not required.

· Drivers License, and Clean Driving Record


Preferred Education and experience:

· Five (5) or more years’ experience

· Bachelor’s degree in applicable field

· Project Management Experience

· Experience working with a small entrepreneurial company.
