Job Summary

If so, we've got the perfect job for you! As our social media coordinator, you'll be the mastermind behind our social media presence. From planning and executing social media campaigns to tracking trends and engaging with our diverse audience, you'll be at the forefront of DPS's social media strategy. Your responsibilities will include:
• Drafting captivating content for our social media platforms
• Identifying newsworthy topics and opportunities for social media engagement
• Developing creative ideas for social media ads
• Monitoring and managing our social media accounts
• Collaborating with our Office of Communications team on content creation
• Staying up to date on social media trends and recommending new strategies and tactics
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- At least an associate's degree in communications or related field and a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in managing and writing for multiple social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and X)
- Demonstrated experience in overseeing social communities, identifying and managing growth strategies, measurement, engagement campaigns, and content strategy.
- Experience in planning and placing social media content using social channel dashboards such as Hootsuite or similar.
- Excellent writing and research skills.
- The ability to translate complicated topics or research into easy-to-understand and engaging content in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Extensive background in journalism, English, communications, or public relations.
- Experience in crisis communications.
- Demonstrated experience in visual storytelling techniques and video editing.
- Ability to work cooperatively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree.
- Experience recommending and implementing social media campaigns for community engagement and outreach.
- Experience in photography.
- Familiarity with AP Style.
Physical Requirements
Very Light: Requires occasionally moving and transporting such articles as file folders and small tools. May need to maintain a stationary position for long periods of time while carrying out job duties.
