Position: MARKETING MANAGER
Reports to: President/CEO, Other
Status: Exempt
JOB SUMMARY:
The Marketing Manager is responsible for enhancing the Company’s business development efforts by identifying opportunities and strategies as well as leading the RFQ proposal response and subsequent interview preparation. This role also ensures the Company’s presence and visibility is maintained through the Company website and across all social medial platforms.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES:
- Oversees marketing team members, including Marketing Coordinator and Senior Marketing Coordinator
- Delegates assignments to team members based on expertise, work experience, and time constraints
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITES:
- Stays current with RFQ opportunities through vendor websites and other databases and assesses the RFP requirements to determine suitability for pursuit
- Participates in Go/No-Go meetings and decisions
- Ability to research and formulate a valid response for construction approach based on research and input from project team members
- Develops the written and graphic strategy for public and private proposals
- Attends proposal pre-submittal meetings and/or schedules attendance for other team members
- Ensures compliance with RFQ/RFP requirements and coordinates the physical and/or electronic production and submittal of proposals and prequalification documents
- Provides original written proposal content in coordination with other team members for resumes, organizational charts and other specialized sections
- Creates interview strategy; Coaches and prepares the project team for interviews
- Attends customer debriefs, as necessary
- Provides written and visual content for multiple purposes, including but not limited to, proposals, cover letters, campaigns, nominations and presentations in coordination with the Marketing team
- Assists with event coordination for trade shows, conferences, open houses, and other Company events
- Supports the general office needs with collateral design and production of items such as report covers, banners, ads, and other design and printing needs
- Ensures all collateral materials comply with current corporate proposal and graphic standards. Participates in the development of new standards and uses discretion to make decisions regarding graphic and design development
- Organizes and maintains all proposal and marketing data, including information on prospects, clients, competitors, written and visual material reference files, proposal boilerplate materials, firm data (such as number of employees by discipline and experience base by client type)
- Takes photos at jobsites and Company events, as needed, and/or procures professional photography for completed projects; maintains photograph catalog
- Leads and mentors other Marketing team members
- Other duties, as assigned
FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Four-year degree in Marketing, Journalism or associated field of study plus five-to-seven years of experience in proposal and graphic design for the architectural/engineering/construction industry (AEC)
- Experience responding to RFQ submittals for the AEC industry
- Proficient with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and MS Office. Knowledge of CRM software and construction programs highly desired
- Visionary thinking with the ability to provide guidance and leadership to junior team members
- Strong marketing experience with willingness to take risks and push the envelope, trying innovative tactics to keep the Company ‘Best in Class’
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong sense of urgency
- Creative, self-motivated with attention to detail and focus on quality of results
- Organized, detailed, efficient, and reliable
- Team player with the ability to recognize how individual actions affect the team as a whole
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, flexible and adaptable to changes to planned tasks or schedule
