As a DSP, you will provide personal, physical and emotional support to people with disability on a regular basis to help them feel independent, confident and a part of their community.
In this position, you will constantly face challenges and learn something new about yourself and the people in your care. You can be doing anything from facilitating group outings for them, creating programs, providing companionship, to helping with daily household chores and medication administration. You will be pushing yourself to do better every day, to get the best possible outcomes for the residents. Becoming a DSP is one of the most fulfilling jobs you can find. Its a chance that provides opportunity for continual learning, introduces you to people from all walks of life, and allows you to give back to the community and to those in need.
