SUMMARY:

United Musculoskeletal Partners (UMP) is building the most elite, physician-owned shared services organization dedicated to excellence in musculoskeletal care. Our sole focus is linking top-notch physicians together in an innovative platform focused on growth and quality patient care.

Our management team helps facilitate safe, supportive, and integrated healthcare experiences that transform the entire continuum of care for orthopedic patients and providers, from initial consultation through rehabilitation and beyond.

In this key regional role, you will be responsible for managing the logistics associated with running market operations. In addition to providing oversight for various workplace processes and implementing new strategies to improve efficiency you will work in tandem with the chief executive officer to make sure that all company operations fall in line with the established vision. Please note that this position will require the ability to travel 50-75% of the time.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned)

As a key member of the Executive Leadership team the COO will:

  • Strategy Implementation: Collaborate with the CEO to implement the market’s strategic goals, ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission and vision.
  • Operational Oversight: Manage and optimize all operational aspects of the business, including support of clinical excellence, quality control, and customer service, to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Team Leadership: Provide strong leadership to various department heads and teams, fostering a culture of teamwork, innovation, and excellence in performance.
  • Performance Monitoring: Establish KPIs and metrics to assess the performance of different departments and drive continuous improvement efforts.
  • Financial Management: Work closely with the CFO to manage the company’s financial resources, budgeting, and cost control, ensuring profitability and financial sustainability.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential operational risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, enhancing the company’s resilience.
  • Business Development: Support opportunities for growth, expansion, and contribute to strategic decisions regarding mergers, acquisitions, or partnerships.
  • Technology and Innovation: Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements, implementing relevant technologies to improve operations and competitiveness.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Affairs: Ensure the company complies with all relevant laws and regulations, managing legal and compliance issues effectively.
  • Communication: Establish clear communication channels and protocols to facilitate seamless information flow throughout the organization
Requirements:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • A Master’s degree in business administration, management, or a related field.
  • Former COO, VP of Operations, or Regional Administrator experience Required.
  • Health Operations experience for a multisite health group is Required.
  • Physician led clinic operations experience Required.
  • Orthopedic operations leadership Required.
  • Proven experience in executive leadership roles, with a track record of successfully managing complex operations.
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of the industry and market trends.
  • A thorough understanding of financial management and budgeting.
