Please note:

  • Location: Hybrid (Remote with periodic travel to tradeshows and industry events, onsite at Renton, Washington HQ Office 2-3 days a week for local residents).


The Business Development Representative (BDR) generates new business opportunities through cold calling, prospecting, account mapping, executing lead generation, and marketing campaigns.

The BDR conducts research and leverages existing relationships to develop prospect lists for reach-outs in order to set up meetings with potential buyers and other Client Development team members. Through these efforts, the BDR develops skills to identify where opportunities for Mosaic services exist.

Roles and Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the BDR role are as follows:
  • Generate new business opportunities through cold calling reach outs through business media outlets, networking, and other channels.
  • Conduct high-level discovery calls with prospective clients.
  • Book discovery calls with prospective clients and internal team members with the support of internal subject matter experts.
  • Leverage articles, initiatives, and other external information to identify stakeholders to contact within prospect accounts (for current and future opportunities).
  • Build relationships with prospects, customers, and industry partners.
  • Assist in the implementation of Mosaic marketing campaigns.
  • Participate as part of the Mosaic team at conferences and events.
  • Assist with tradeshow logistics, including setting up and tearing down booth and tabletop exhibits.
  • Proactively establish and maintain effective working team relationships with all support departments.
  • Complete related duties including, but not limited to:
    • Maintain records in organization's CRM (Customer Relationship Management) tool.
    • Provide support for marketing events and campaigns.
    • Provide research support as needed.
    • Adhere to all company policies and procedures while maintaining internal and external professional relationships that meet company core values.

Skills and Experience
  • Demonstrated ability to move efforts forward with gaps in information and ambiguity (staying focused on the end goal)
  • A self-starter who can set individual goals and develop plans to reach targets.
  • Strong research skills and curiosity to research organizations and identify key stakeholders and where Mosaic services may fit.
  • Implement new target market initiatives.
  • Strong business writing skills.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience with email and cold-call sales tactics.


Working Relationships
  • Internal: Works within the team and in collaboration with other Mosaic departments to achieve client satisfaction, revenue generation, marketing execution, and long-term account goals in line with Mosaic's vision and values.
  • External: Develops and maintains strong relationships with prospective clients and other project stakeholders. Independently works in and effectively navigates through ambiguous and political client environments.


Education

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field or equivalent experience preferred.

  • Physical Demands: While performing the job duties, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear. Position requires extensive travel and the ability to sit for extended periods of time. Specific vision abilities required by the position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.   • Work Environment: Work environment can vary greatly depending on client and location. Reliable transportation to and from work location is required. Travel will be required depending on client/project needs.

The compensation range considers a wide range of factors that are considered in making hiring and compensation decisions. These factors include, but are not limited to candidate skill set, consulting experience, training and education, competencies, and other business and organizational needs. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Mosaic strives to set salaries at, or near the 50th percentile (midpoint) of the range and it is not typical for candidates to be hired at or near the top of the range for the position. Total compensation for the Account Executive position includes a base salary and performance bonus program for new business generation. A reasonable salary estimate for this position is $65,000 to $85,000 annually. The performance bonus is based on achieving new business generation milestones set annually and can vary greatly based on employee performance. A conservative estimate for the annual new business generation performance bonus is $0 - $18,000 but highly dependent on new business generation.
