About us

Peter Grant MD is seeking a detail-oriented, self-starter with customer service experience to join our team as a medical receptionist. We have been serving the Western Suburbs/Chicago area for 20 years. Join us and enjoy serving our patients.

Requirements:

Minimum of 1 year experience as a Medical Receptionist preferred, or 2-3 years of relevant work experience in a similar environment

Outgoing and friendly personality

Customer Service background

Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and co-workers

Skill in conducting appropriate written, oral and telephone communications.

Basic computer software applications and associated office equipment are required.

Bachelor's degree preferred

Responsibilities:
- Greet and check-in patients as they arrive at the medical office
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries or direct calls to the appropriate staff member
- Verify patient insurance information and collect co-pays or payments
- Maintain patient records and update information as necessary
- Assist with medical billing and coding tasks
- Coordinate referrals to specialists or other healthcare providers
- Ensure a clean and organized front desk area

Skills:
- Proficiency in front desk operations and customer service
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Experience with electronic medical records systems (e.g., Eaglesoft, eClinicalWorks)
- Previous experience as a dental receptionist or medical receptionist is preferred
- Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently (e.g., ER experience)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively

Salary: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
