Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP is seeking a Part-Time Senior Travel Demand Modeler Technical Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience and expertise in travel demand modeling, data analysis, and transportation forecasting. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in providing technical leadership and support for travel demand model-related projects.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize a deep understanding of travel demand modeling fundamentals to contribute to the development and enhancement of travel demand models.
• Conduct data analysis and model parameter estimation to ensure accurate and reliable modeling outcomes.
• Apply appropriate statistical analysis techniques to derive meaningful insights from data.
• Source and manage data inputs for model development, including roadway inventory, centerline data, and third-party network data.
• Communicate technical information effectively to assist decision-makers in understanding model outcomes and implications.
• Apply general knowledge of transportation forecasting and traffic engineering principles to enhance model performance.
• Demonstrate proficiency in GIS, statistical and quantitative analysis, and programming.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
• 20+ years of relevant experience in travel demand modeling.
• Proven experience as a Project Manager for travel demand model-related projects, including contract management.
• Staff management experience is a plus.
• Expertise in travel demand model theory with practical experience in model development and application.
• Proficiency in modeling software for demand modeling.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for conveying plans and analysis results.
