Job Summary

Under the limited supervision of the Director, Applications supports a specific business area (Asset Management, Operations & Finance, etc.) and the related IT business applications integrated with the ERP application and support the automation of key business processes in that area. The incumbent will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions, with a focus on designing, developing and unit testing of business processes in ERP application platforms. This position is engaged in new project implementation, repairing applications with software development, enhancements of existing implementations, fixing defects and support on-going production maintenance on a timely manner involving all stages of application life cycle development and related inbound and outbound integrations. The ERP applications support specialist is expected to deliver IT implementations in partnership with business customers, Infrastructure teams, IT business analysts and 3rd party software/application vendors.

Here is how the Senior ERP Applications Support Specialist will help:

  • Design and architect ERP solutions based on identified business requirements, ensuring scalability, flexibility, and compatibility with existing systems and infrastructure.
  • Define system architecture, including database design, application components, integrations, and interfaces with third-party systems.
  • Customize and develop ERP applications, modules, and functionalities to meet specific business needs and requirements.
  • Utilize programming languages (e.g., Java, C#, VC++, Python) and development frameworks to implement customizations and extensions to the ERP system.
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors and internal IT teams to integrate ERP systems with other applications, systems, and data sources used within the airport organization.
  • Implement middleware solutions or integration platforms to facilitate seamless data exchange and communication between ERP and external systems.
  • Configure ERP system settings, parameters, and modules based on business requirements and best practices.
  • Plan and execute ERP system deployments, including installation, setup, and configuration of software components and infrastructure.
  • Develop test plans, scripts, and scenarios to validate ERP system functionalities, data integrity, and performance.
  • Conduct thorough testing, including unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT), to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the ERP system.
  • Provide training and support to end-users, administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure they understand how to effectively use and administer the ERP system.
  • Develop user documentation, manuals, and training materials to facilitate knowledge transfer and adoption of ERP functionalities.
  • Perform regular maintenance tasks, including system updates, patches, and upgrades, to keep the ERP system running smoothly and securely.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement optimizations to enhance efficiency, reliability, and usability.
  • Maintain vendor relationships, contracts, and service level agreements (SLAs), ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and delivery of quality services.
  • Implement and enforce security measures, access controls, and data protection protocols to safeguard sensitive information stored and processed within the ERP system.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, standards, and best practices related to data security, privacy, and governance.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in ERP systems and enterprise software development.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation to enhance the functionality, usability, and value of the ERP system for the airport organization.
  • Work with the end-user community to understand and deliver robust software requirements using ERP applications.
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned or required.

Qualifications

Preferred requirements to apply for the role of Senior ERP Applications Support Specialist are:

The following requirements list the minimum education/training/experience required to qualify for this job. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be accepted.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related filed from an accredited college or university.
  • 5 years’ experience in software development using ERP/JD Edwards/Workday. Experience with Finance/Asset Management domains a plus.
  • Deep understanding of business processes, and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams building solid relationships, reviewing and documenting architecture diagrams and developing the business requirements into IT software applications deliveries.
  • Possess or obtain prior to employment a valid Pennsylvania Class C driver’s license. Note: license must be maintained throughout employment.

We also expect that candidates will demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and abilities in most cases:

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of diverse business tools and technologies.
  • Extensive knowledge of IT applications and processes including ERP, CRM, HR, operations, Finance, Assets/Materials management systems.
  • Considerable Ability to write code, procedures, consolidate and communicate technical concepts to all levels effectively in verbal and written form;
  • Considerable Ability to write stored procedures and structured query language using relation database management system like MS SQL Server, Oracle.
  • Sound knowledge of applicable operations, development, and related technical specialties including Crystal Reports, Reportsnow, JD Edwards, Workday.
  • Specific knowledge of finance processes, preferably in Accounts payable, Accounts Receivables, Inventory management and Asset workflow maintenance
