Regulatory and Compliance Officer

Guardian Energy has an exciting opportunity for a Regulatory & Compliance Officer to join the team in Prior Lake!
In this role, you will report to the Chief Operating Officer and support Guardian Dry Corn Milling facilities in various emerging and existing regulatory and compliance related program tasks. These tasks include communicating with employees, business partners, and regulatory agencies along with other assigned duties. Several of the regulatory programs are focused on climate change, life-cycle analysis, and carbon capture and storage.

Essential Functions and Basic Duties:
- Gather data and prepare compliance reports accurately and on-time for all operating facilities.
- Develop policies and procedures for compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a compliance calendar and keep all parties informed of requirements.
- Work with marketing company to ensure all reports meet commercial requirements.
- Support management in inter-departmental training to ensure policies and procedures are understood and communicated.
- Provide supporting research and understanding of existing and new regulatory programs and incentives that may impact the company’s or business partners’ activities.
- Serve as a supportive company representative and point of contact for inquiries from business partners regarding compliance and regulatory issues related to our relationship.
- Interface with industry organizations to stay abreast of regulatory and compliance related issues.
- Provide knowledgeable and supporting representation of the company at conferences and events related to compliance activities.
- Aid management in identifying areas of carbon lifecycle analysis compliance risk, vulnerability and opportunity and execution of management’s determined plan of action.
- Oversee all 3rd party audits.
- Respond to all requests from regulatory agencies in a timely manner.
- Other responsibilities and special projects as assigned.
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Strong analytical, system and computer skills (Microsoft Office and alternative Productivity Software)
Knowledge & Skills Requirements:
- 5-7 years of prior experience in a role requiring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Desire to learn and understand regulatory language and requirements.
- Basic knowledge of relevant regulatory and compliance programs or agencies desired but not required.
- Demonstrated ability to be organized and meet assigned deadlines.
- Proficient at managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective communicator, both orally and written.
- A self-motivated individual with accountability to complete assigned projects on time.
- Strong work ethic and time commitment to organizational success.
- Ability to travel to operational locations as needed.
