Human Resources Generalist (4+ yrs exp. req. / knowledge of IL labor laws req.)
Location: Kankakee County, IL
Salary: $30/hr - $34/hr + Quarterly Bonus + Benefits
Benefits: Health Insurance, 401k w/match, Holidays, PTO, Tuition/Cert. Reimbursement
Job Type: Full-Time; Eligible for Overtime
Typical Hours: Monday-Thursday, half day on Fridays, generally 40 hours/week

Human Resources Generalist Description

Our client in the manufacturing industry is looking for an upbeat, outgoing Human Resources Generalist to add to their team in Kankakee County, IL. Reporting to the CFO, you will be responsible for overseeing a diverse range of HR functions for 2 facilities, making up about 70 employees. Qualified candidates will have demonstrated experience across all HR functions, with strong knowledge of Illinois labor laws (including familiarity with processing FMLA claims), payroll processing and employee training & development. To be successful in this role, you must possess an attention to detail, with the ability to follow through and complete tasks, while embracing building rapport with employees, fielding questions and one-on-one interactions. Human Resources Generalist Responsibilities

• Engage with employees in all departments and at all levels across 2 local facilities
• Process payroll using automated system
• Onboard new employees and manage pre-employment tests
• Maintain accurate employee attendance records; communicate disciplinary action if necessary
• Update and distribute the company employee manual and all plant postings
• Conduct employee investigations and exit interviews; process termination paperwork
• Enter journal entries in ERP for payroll and taxes
• Support compliance with labor laws and safety regulations with required reports and claims
• Administer employee benefits and maintain vendor relationships
• Work with senior leadership to resolve employee issues

Human Resources Generalist Qualifications

• 4+ years of human resources experience required
• Employee/labor relations, training & development, and payroll processing experience required
• Knowledge of Illinois state labor laws and compliance required
• ERP and payroll processing software experience required
