Assistant Controller - Spotnails

Peace Industries, Inc (dba Spotnails), an award-winning distributor of pneumatic stapling tools, collated fasteners, and replacement parts, headquartered in Rolling Meadows IL, is seeking an Assistant Controller to join the team, help Spotnails continue to build a fantastic workplace, and help customers grow their businesses.

Reporting directly to the CFO, as an Assistant Controller, the candidate will partner with the other team members to provide timely and accurate financial reporting so leaders can make well-informed decisions. The candidate will also work on significant projects that will change the landscape of the organization. And for the right candidate, advancement opportunities exist.

To the qualified Assistant Controller we offer:

• $85,000 - $130,000 annual salary, commensurate with experience

Primary duties of the Assistant Controller:

• Compiling, analyzing, troubleshooting, and reporting financial data
• Collaborating on special database compilation and analysis projects using Excel/Access/Crystal Reports
• Assisting with cost accounting transactions, maintenance, and procedures
• Working on ERP migration, paper-to-paperless migration, and sales tax compliance projects
• Daily, monthly, and annual reporting, including journal entries and supporting work papers

Requirements for the Assistant Controller:

• Alignment with company values
• BA in Accounting/Finance; 4-10 years in public and/or industry accounting
• Highly organized and strong attention to detail
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong Excel and Access skills (pivot tables, V-lookup, etc.)
