POSITION: Job Development Specialist (non-exempt)
SUPERVISED BY: Director Community Employment Services MINIMUM QUALIFICATION: AA or BA a +; 2 years Disabilities/I/DD experience and SALES EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Salary Range: $17.00-$18.00 + Commissions

Job Objectives: Bachelor's degree preferred. Sales, business, marketing, human services, and recruiting working directly with business/industry. Experience assisting individuals in competitive employment needs. Experience in job readiness counseling and resume writing preferred. Experience with individuals with disabilities is strongly desired. Strong internet, Microsoft Word, and Outlook experience required. Prefer candidates with 3-4 years of experience in workforce development focused on individuals with disabilities. Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills.

SALES EXPERIENCE HIGHLY PREFERRED
JOB DEVELOPMENT
  • Contact business and industry partners to develop and/or identify work and job opportunities for program participants. Obtain job orders and match business requirements with kill sets of program participants, adults with disabilities.
  • Assess referred employees before placement.
  • Responsible for coordinating and implementing any job preparation strategies as needed, including counseling and referrals.
  • Complete all required documentation.
  • Maintain good communication and relationships with employers and supervisors at work sites.
  • Advocate for employees on the work sites.
  • Assist each program client in obtaining gainful employment.
  • Ensure appropriate educational/ vocational training.
  • Run job club groups
  • Engage in virtual job searches; work with clients to submit online job applications and
  • Meet with clients individually to discuss vocational plans and assess progress.
  • Responsible for coordinating and maintaining accurate client records, reports, statistics, and schedules.
  • Timely completion of paperwork and use of and timely recordkeeping in BEAM and EHR.
  • Must attend and participate in all meetings as required.
  • Develop and maintain business resources concerning job development, training, and related services.
  • Provide community resources and job readiness training for employees.
  • Assist in the arrangement of transportation for employees; transport employees as needed.
  • Responsible for continued follow-up and verification of employment,
  • Document time spent on all aspects of work adjustment and/or supported employment.
  • Maintain a safe work environment.
  • Be available for some job coaching shifts
  • Other duties as assigned
COMMUNITY RELATIONS
  • Develop and implement marketing techniques to provide the community with exposure to OE Enterprises and hiring persons with disabilities.
  • Provide information and education to parents, caregivers, business community, and other interested parties on competitive employment and persons with disabilities.
  • Develop business contacts for employment.
  • Provide presentations about OE and services to businesses and agencies
AGENCY LIASION
  • Develop and maintain a working relationship with Vocational Rehabilitation.
  • Become knowledgeable about the American Disability Act and provide information to the community.
  • Develop and maintain a network with other agencies in the area providing similar services.
  • Become knowledgeable about Social Security, maintaining a working relationship with Social Security Administration.
  • Participate in local Community Service and Job Fairs.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Able to work standing for an 8 hour shift.
  • Able to lift and carry a 50 lb. parcel across a large warehouse.
  • Able to work under varying climatic conditions, indoors or outdoors, in cold or heat.
