JOB DESCRIPTION
ASSOCIATE MEDICAL DIRECTOR
Medical Strategy Department
Reports to: EVP, Medical Director
 
 

Job Summary

The Associate Medical Director will be responsible for reviewing different therapeutic areas, published clinical trials, and data to develop the appropriate medical communication, whether in PowerPoint or Word formats, to support the needs of the assigned project. This individual will work closely with the head of our medical group and with our client services team. 
 
Key Job Responsibilities (Duties may include, but are not limited to all or some of the following)
 
  • Review and understand scientific information and data from different therapeutic areas and clinical trials 
  • Support and execute the medical writing needs of our projects (slide kits, manuscripts, etc.), while ensuring its scientific accuracy and quality
  • Synthesize scientific data into the best or most appropriate communication for a diverse audience (primary care physicians, specialists, nurses, pharmacists, patients)
  • Manage the development and completion of projects, including writing, editing, and feedback incorporation, within client-approved timelines
  • Development of scientific meeting summaries from advisory boards, roundtables, congress sessions, etc.
  • Attend and participate in meetings and scientific discussions with clients, as well as with the internal team
  • Ability to bring creative and strategic recommendations 
  • Attend virtual or live symposia or congress

Job Qualifications (Skills/Requirements)
 
  • An MD, PharmD, or PhD degree in a relevant scientific discipline
  • 0-2 years of experience in medical advertising, medical communications, or medical education
  •  Writing and publication experience
  • Strong self-motivation and enthusiasm, with a demonstrated ability to thrive in a detail-oriented, dynamic, and highly collaborative environment
  • Familiarity with PubMed, ClinicalTrials.gov, and other sources of clinical and scientific content
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where delivering tasks with a quick turnaround is necessary and expected
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret data and provide clear strategic/scientific direction to a variety of audiences
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, including strong proficiency in related technologies (Power point, Excel, MS Office
  • Superior language and communication skills with the ability to translate complex scientific materials into various formats efficiently
  • Ability to recreate statistical graphics from different formats
  • Good knowledge of AMA style
  • Good teamworking skills
  • Must be able to work in EST work time zone
  • Goes above and beyond the job description and has the willingness to be flexible for the team, agency, and ultimately the work
