Job Title; Corpsmember Development Coordinator - The Corpsmember Development Coordinators work to help SFCC’s Corpsmembers who are aged 18-26 with career development, development of soft skills including time management, professionalism, conflict resolution, goal setting, and self -exploration. This is done both in one-on-one meetings with individual corpsmembers and in providing training to groups of corpsmembers during twice a week development sessions, either individually or in conjunction with other staff or an outside trainer. The Corpsmember Development coordinator may assist with providing supportive services and/or making referrals. These services can include housing, childcare, transportation, substance use, resolving legal issues, grief/loss, and resolving family issues. The Coordinator will be responsible for making sure all intake documentation for corpsmembers including an inventory of services needed, self-assessments, and eligibility documents for funding sources are complete. This will help the development of an individualized plan for each corpsmember that has educational, training, and career development goals designed to occur over the one-year duration of the program. The CMD Coordinator will work closely with other staff to make sure that corpsmembers are making progress on both their work experience, career readiness, and personal development goals. The coordinators will serve as a liaison with John Muir Charter School and its teacher, who is co-located at SFCC’s admin building. The Coordinator will also build relationships with other non-profits, community partners, local schools, colleges, and sponsor organizations with the goal of helping corpsmembers graduate the program in a year prepared for various career tracks and opportunities.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assessing Corpsmembers interests, aptitudes, and abilities in order to assist in career and educational planning by utilizing a comprehensive self-exploration tool.

* Developing and implementing in-service development training sessions and workshops to achieve career readiness and educational goals.

* Working with corpsmembers in developing individualized service plans based on their self- assessments as well as an inventory of needed services.

*  Assists with the planning, development, and implementation of monthly orientation sessions including explaining rights and responsibilities of corpsmembers, explaining the corpsmember handbook and the corpsmember agreement to corpsmembers.

* Coordinating with Field Operations Supervisors and staff to be present when Corpsmembers work experience ends ensuring that corpsmembers attend education and development activities on a daily basis.

* Making sure that all paperwork and application documents have been collected to determine corpsmember eligibility and that the information is entered into funding source portals as well SFCC’s Salesforce database.

* Meeting with each corpsmembers individually at least once a quarter to make sure that progress is being made on their individual service plan.

* Coordinating with the Business Development Coordinator on job fairs, employer showcases, resume development, interview preparation, and job placement activities to ensure that services are delivered for corpsmembers efficiently.

* Serving as a liaison with John Muir Charter School to ensure that SFCC’s corpsmembers who are pre-diplomas students are making progress and that if there are barriers that need to be addressed that they are brought to their supervisor’s attention.

* Coordinating with the Case Manager as needed as it relates to providing supportive services for corpsmembers.     

* Make sure that individual corpsmember files contain the necessary documents as it relates to annual certification from the California Conservation Corps and coordinate with other departments, as necessary.

* Track and enter corpsmember outcomes and progress in both SFCC’s Salesforce database and as well as required funding source portals.

* Creates programs to audit corpsmember records and determine progress toward meeting corps and JMH academic requirements and to assess eligibility for graduation. Maintains appropriate files and records.
