Xstrahl has manufacturing facilities in the UK and USA and operates globally through its international network of distributors. Xstrahl is a leading designer and manufacturer of Superficial Orthovoltage Medical X-ray Systems used in the treatment of cancers and dermatological disorders, as well as a pioneer in the development of advanced X-ray systems for pre-clinical radiation biology research.

We are looking for an entry-level Field Service Technician. This person is an organized and technically strong individual with a strong electronics and mechanical mindset who will be responsible for the installation, preventative maintenance, and breakdown/corrective maintenance for Xstrahl therapy and life science systems. The individual will work from the US office and will provide the interface between the customer and Xstrahl and must represent the values of Xstrahl Ltd, always acting within the requirements of the company’s Quality Management System.

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

ïProvide prompt and professional engineering support to Xstrahl therapy and research cabinet systems based in the United States with the occasional need to travel worldwide.
ïTo carry out installations including handover & acceptance testing.
ïFault diagnosis and defect rectification.
ïComplete CFR’S and customer tickets in line with company procedure.
ïWhen Necessary, assist with Production/in-house work.
ïMaintain full and accurate records of all work carried out, per company procedures.
ïInstallations completed on schedule and within budget, and all documentation signed off & submitted within the required timeframe.
ïMaintain uptime of in- service equipment.
ïCommunicate customer feedback, contribute to and drive solutions in line with the company CAPA (Corrective and Preventative Actions) Process and Zero Defects policy.
ïCost-effective, on-time installation.
ïCarry out maintenance and system breakdowns on medical and life science systems completing reports on time per company procedures.
ïWilling to travel domestically as well as internationally
ïTravel expectancy is approximately 70%

Required Skills and Education:

• The Field Service Technician must be able to communicate clearly and confidently the technical aspects of their work to physicists, scientists, and medical specialists. This will naturally require good verbal and written communication that is both clear and accurate.
• Strong written and verbal English language skills.
• Certificate or Associate degree in a relevant field of expertise, or higher required.
• Good level of IT skills, with experience working with proprietary software as well as Windows OS and Office applications
• Good mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience in communicating technical issues clearly and to the appropriate level of detail.
• Clean Driving License.
• Must be self-motivated, and able to work under pressure both individually and as part of a team.
• Excellent presentation skills due to the nature of working on customer sites as the face of Xstrahl.

Knowledge & Experience

• Electrical and electronic diagnostic skills.
• Mechanical assembly and troubleshooting skills
• Experience in installing software.
• Experience in installing and commissioning complex electro-mechanical systems.
• The ability to speak multiple languages would be an advantage.
