Marketing Coordinator

Responsibilities

This position is responsible for overseeing marketing tasks, marketing budget and facilitating the Marketing Committee at the Hub Bike Co-op . This position manages in-store branding, signing, and merchandising, as well as ensuring bottomliners for all Hub Marketing events and outreach tasks. This position will work with the New Bike Buyer and Parts/Apparel/Accessories Buyers to help create effective store merchandising, and will work with our Workstand Marketing Account Coordinator to effectively manage online marketing content.


Duties

  • Create a consistent, active voice for The Hub in its media & social media outlets
  • Research new ways The Hub can expand its media reach
  • Using profit numbers from the previous year, establish marketing budget, double check with financial committee, and split up budget into subgroups
  • Bottomline the creation of print and online media for advertisements, sales promotions, events, etc.
  • Curate content appropriate to The Hub’s mission and values to post on Hub social media 
  • Work with Marketing Committee to prepare agendas & facilitate monthly Marketing Committee meetings
  • Work closely with Workstand Marketing Account Coordinator for online media and marketing calendar
  • Prepare marketing updates for the Co-op’s monthly all-staff general meeting.
  • Forward marketing emails to the appropriate bottom-liner or read and respond to marketing emails in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with and use feedback from the Workstand Account Coordinator, Marketing Committee, the O/R committee, and the online sales coordinator to create & regularly update highlights on The Hub’s main page & social media outlets
  • Maintain neat, organized computer files for marketing.
  • Maintain blog and social media accounts by managing/sharing account permissions
  • Monitor and respond to thehub@ general and marketing@thehub emails, or forward them to a more relevant department or coordinator 


Promotional and Branding Duties

  • Collaborate with the Parts and Accessories buyer to ensure the design and purchase of all Hub-branded merchandise 
  • Communicate with Bike Buyer to work out changes in bike line and pricing 
  • Work with Front End, O/R, & Marketing Committees to prepare for all sales/promotional events
  • Track store displays and promotional materials expenses within Marketing Budget


Outreach, Events, and Donations Duties


  • Facilitate Hub involvement in community events as well as create new Hub-sponsored events pertinent to the Hub’s mission & vision
  • Point person for Hub-Sponsored racing teams
  • Bottomline Contract Negotiations 
  • Defacto Liason for Events & Sponsored Rider Benefits
  • Maintain The Hub’s marketing calendars
  • Maintaining External events calendar for the public
  • Maintaining The Hub’s Internal marketing calendar to reflect committee commitments
  • Tracking events, donations & activities within the Marketing Budget
  • Develop & send a proofread, monthly newsletter highlighting upcoming events, sales and other submissions


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience editing a variety of media
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Experience facilitating timelines and detailed plans 
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently and efficiently
  • Ability to set deadlines and follow through with them
  • Ability to maintain a budget 
  • Willingness to expand one’s knowledge base about the role by attending seminars, researching, etc.
  • Experience in communication and interpersonal group relations
  • Ability to have candid conversations with co-workers and maintain an open and respectful environment


Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in marketing and outreach
  • Ability to create aesthetically pleasing displays that excite customers about our products
  • Event coordinating experience
  • Ability to use Canva to create advertisements and proper signage for products and seasonal sales, and other promotional events
  • Experience planning social media content to maintain a consistent social media presence during all seasons
  • Management/supervision experience preferred
  • Experience with cooperatives


Time Commitment

  • This position is allotted 20 hours weekly, year round
  • Expected Full Time (32-40 hours/week), with one weekend shift required weekly; additional hours filled with Sales or Service floor shifts
  • Must attend monthly General meetings (2 hours/ea) 
  • Must organize &/or attend monthly Marketing Committee meetings (2 hours/ea) 
  • Must attend monthly Finance Committee meetings (2 hours/ea)


Compensation

  • This position qualifies as Level 4, overseen by Worker Ownership due to the significant financial responsibility. Minimum $18.75/hr with consideration for experience.
  • PTO plus the flexibility to request additional unpaid time off

  • Paid parental leave available after 1250 hours worked
  • Option to apply to become a Worker-Owner after 1000 hours worked, which includes access to partially-subsidized health insurance and annual patronage dividends

Available shifts and compensation: We have available shifts all days of the week. Compensation is $18.75 - $28.50/hour.
