Primary Function

The Director of Sales and Marketing is responsible for promoting MP Biomedicals’ vision, products, and services to regional customers and potential customers in the Americas region. This role oversees both direct sales, including e-commerce, as well as business development and distributor sales, managing strategic and tactical initiatives to drive growth and market expansion across the US, Canada, and LATAM.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

 Drive continuous improvement strategies to enhance MP Biomedicals' brand awareness.

 Oversee eCommerce and digital marketing initiatives to optimize website sales and expand market reach.

 Supervise and execute direct and distributor marketing projects.

 Support product managers in product launches, marketing analysis, campaigns, and other related activities.

 Provide sales and business development teams with essential sales tools, content, and marketing qualified leads (MQLs).

 Optimize marketing channels to maximize reach and impact.

 Work closely with the CEO, to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.

 Develop and implement strategic sales plans, including goal setting for individual and team performance.

 Coordinate sales forecasting, planning, and budgeting in alignment with marketing strategies.

 Define and implement sales organization quotas and performance objectives for consistent sales plan tracking.

 Implement sales promotional activities and manage essential support functions to boost sales force productivity.

 Identify and prioritize opportunities for sales process improvement in collaboration with sales representatives.

 Conduct ongoing assessment of the competitive landscape and adjust sales strategies accordingly.

 Coordinate training and development initiatives for sales teams and support staff to enhance skills and performance.

 Ensure timely implementation of company initiatives and foster compliance across the organization.

 Other responsibilities as required.

Preferred Education & Experience

 Bachelor’s Degree required, MBA or advanced degree preferred.

 5-7 years of robust marketing experience, with at least 5 years in a senior marketing leadership role.

 Extensive experience in driving marketing strategy across multiple locations.

 Proficiency in strategic digital marketing and eCommerce.

 Background in both B2C and B2B business models.

 Track record of developing and scaling brand identity.

 Experience in life science, chemical, biotechnology, or related industries preferred.

 Minimum of 10 years of experience in life science products, diagnostic products, or instrumentation sales.

 In-depth knowledge and network within the life science reagents or instrumentations industry.

 Established contacts with distributors, manufacturers, and research consumers.

 Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including presentation expertise.

Work Environment:

 The role may involve travel, desk work, communication (electronically, telephonically, and in-person), and attendance at after-hour events.

 Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.

 Remote-based, with travel required up to 20% or more, including visits to the Solon, Ohio facility as needed.

 Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods (1 hour or more) as necessary, and work on a computer or laptop at a desk and lift up to 25 pounds.
