This Level One teaching hospital has been named among the Best Places to Work for 15 consecutive years by the Dallas Business Journal. This Magnet hospital features all-private rooms with 580+ beds and includes more than 250 physicians with expertise in more than 60 medical specialties. They are looking for a Diabetes Educator to come join the team…and will report to a Director that I personally placed there several years ago! I’ve known him personally for quite some time and can attest to him being a transparent, servant leaders that always engages the staff and cares about retaining great talent on his team.

This Diabetes Educator should have at least a year’s worth of experience in an acute care hospital setting. This Educator will provide individual and group diabetes education using evidence-based practices. They will facilitate group education classes based on the National Standards for Diabetes Self-Management Education guidelines. They will also provide continuity of care by assessing patient's progress and making appropriate recommendations for diabetes self-management.

Requirements:

  • RN required, Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) or Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) required
  • At least a year experience in education or staff development within an acute care hospital required, specifically in diabetes education
