Farmersville Chamber of Commerce

Reports to: President and Board of Directors

 

OBJECTIVE:

We are seeking an outgoing individual that is enthusiastic about cultivating business relationships as well as engaging the local community. This position will be responsible for managing the Farmersville Chamber of Commerce office and assisting the Board of Directors with membership recruitment and retention, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, Social Media marketing for the Chamber and its members as well as Event Coordination.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Coordinate with the Board of Directors for all matters directly impacting Chamber of Commerce duties and functions

· Provide exceptional customer service as the first point of contact for new and existing visitors/members

· Answer calls and emails in a timely manner

· Membership Sales –Make introduction calls/visits and follow-up calls/visits to local businesses

· Retention of Late Accounts – Follow up on late accounts via phone calls and emails

· Keep accurate records of accounting using QuickBooks Online

· Prepare Agenda and Financial Statements for Board of Director Meeting held 3rd Tuesday of every month at 5:30pm

· Ribbon Cuttings – Coordinate all ribbon cuttings for new Chamber members and solicit member and city participation

· Farmersville Market Weekends – 1st Saturday of each Month (except January and October)

o Coordinate vendor solicitation and planning

o Ensure appropriate resources are available on Market Saturdays

· Guide and plan Major Events with the Board of Directors

· Encourage membership participation in Chamber events and committees

 

DAILY ACTIVITIES INCLUDE:

· Ensure Visitor’s Center is operational 9am – 4pm (Monday through Thursdays) weekly

o Greet visitors and guide them toward city resources as well as local businesses

· Develop and promote Chamber social media posts

· Promote and Share Member’s posts on social media

· Initiate membership solicitation calls and follow -ups

· Utilize CC-Assist (Chamber Software) to maintain business memberships and due collections

Event Coordination and Planning Responsibility – Typically held after hours and weekends

Recurring Events

· Morning Network – 3rd Thursday morning at 8am – 9am

· Business After Hours – Every other month at 5:30pm – 7pm

· Lunch and Learn – Every other month 11:30am – 1pm

· Monthly Market – 1st Saturday of every Month (except January & October) 6:30am – 3:30pm

Major Events

· Chamber Banquet – Saturday in March or April

· Casino Night – August

· Trick it Up Bike Ride - October

· Elf Run & Christmas Parade - December

 

QUALIFICATION/SKILLS REQUIRED

· Minimum of 3 years management experience (Preferred Non-Profit Board Management)

· Punctual and On Time

· Creative and Energetic

· Comfortable making Cold Calls

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite / Adobe Suite

· General Accounting Skills (Preferred QuickBooks Online experience)

· CRM understanding (Preferred CC-Assist experience)

· Significant fundraising experience

· Ability to plan events and delegate tasks to Board Members as well as volunteers

· Proficiency with social media marketing skills across multiple platforms

o Preferred experience with scheduling social media marketing content

· Ability to manage sensitive situations and deal with challenging personalities

· Residence preferred within the local commuting area (within 30 min drive)

· Compensation – $42,000 - $60,000; Salaried/Exempt Position
