Elmhurst City Soccer Association seeks coaches to join our professional coaching staff for the upcoming 2023-2024 season. ECSA, a premier club that competes on a local (IWSL, YSSL & NISL) for both boys and girls ages (U8-U19), is located in the western suburbs of Chicago. Our coaching staff is highly motivated and passionate about teaching young players the game of soccer by creating a fun, dynamic learning atmosphere. Roles and Responsibilities
· Coach training sessions and games using objectives and yearly team plan for the assigned team.
· Promote an environment of skill development, safety, fair play, sportsmanship, and fun.
· Must always be a positive role model for children.
· Interact with team parents to ensure parents, players, and coaches are on the same page, thus creating a community culture within the club.
· Communicate effectively with other ECSA Staff and correspond kindly, timely, and effectively with parents.
· Participate as needed in ECSA and youth soccer activities, including meetings, seminars, outreach programs, conventions, conferences, etc.
· Aid in business development by representing the ECSA brand and contributing to ECSA's social media and fundraising efforts.
· Additional tasks or duties as requested by the Executive Director & Technical Director.
· The ability to manage, develop, and motivate youth soccer players. Sound interpersonal communication skills necessary for interaction with the players and their families. Strong decision-making skills that require discretion and a significant degree of independent judgment.
· The ideal candidate will have a passion and enthusiasm for working with soccer players of all ages/abilities, staff, and volunteer coaches. The candidate will thrive in a community club & high-performance soccer environment and demonstrate a passion for continuous program improvement and leadership.
Minimum Qualifications & Skills
USSF National 'D' License or equivalent
College playing experience and/or teaching background are a plus.
Ability to communicate well (oral and written) with parents, players, staff, and representatives of other organizations.
Must pass a background check.
Possess a valid driver's license.
Be flexible to travel outside of Chicago for tournaments and league play.
Ability to work weeknights and weekends.
