Job Description

Total Fire Protection (TFP1, Inc.) specializes in all aspects of sales and service of Fire and Life Safety products. We are a recognized leader in the fire protection industry and provide our services and products both nationally and locally. Our customer base ranges from commercial buildings and tenants to retail stores, hospitals, schools, construction and transportation industries, giving us the opportunity to sell our products and services to a vast majority of businesses.

Total Fire Protection is looking for a Fire Sprinkler Services Manager to directly oversee all duties and tasks of this functional discipline. As the Fire Sprinkler Services Manager, you will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer, and oversee the scheduling and training of and provide management in the field, as well as all aspects of fire sprinkler projects. You will be directly responsible for the oversight of all Field Service Technicians in the inspection, testing, and maintenance of Fire Sprinkler and Standpipe systems, in accordance with NFPA 25.

The Fire Sprinkler Services Manager will also thoroughly map out the details of each project including, but not limited to analyzing proposed plan changes, verifying and preparing drawings, listing necessary materials or resources, and solving potential problems. The Fire Sprinkler Services Manager will be responsible for a critical component in the Company, will be identifying opportunities for increased revenue and upselling, and will be in a position of influence in the future growth and success of the department and Company.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Ambitious, motivated, detail-oriented and organized; able to multitask and work independently
  • Must be experienced in the inspection, testing, maintenance, repairing and identifying deficiencies in Fire Sprinkler and Standpipe systems in accordance with NFPA 25 guidelines
  • Experience in hydrostatic testing and fire pump testing of applicable systems in accordance with NFPA 25
  • In-depth knowledge, proven history, and expertise in the Fire Sprinkler and Standpipe services industry
  • Comprehensive knowledge of NFPA 25 and corresponding inspection, testing, and maintenance of corresponding systems
  • You must have experience working in construction or a related field
  • You must have a minimum of five (5) years working as a supervisor in the industry
  • The ability to lead, direct the work of others, and foster an environment of creativity with a proven track record of performing these functions before in the service industry
  • Strategic leader in helping identify departmental and company-wide growth opportunities
  • Superior organizational and leadership skills
  • The ability to perform in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective listening and communication skills
  • The ability to handle difficult customers with diplomacy and tact
  • Minimum of seven (7) years prior customer service and managerial experience is a must
  • Proven track record of having managing teams of service technicians in a service industry
  • History of having implemented effective productivity solutions in a service industry
  • Creative thinker in identifying opportunities to upsell Company services
  • The ability to adapt to new systems and procedures
  • The ability to understand the quality and level of service Company delivers to their customers
  • Self-motivation, strong work ethic, skilled in developing processes, career-oriented
  • Drive, persistence, and the ability to meet and exceed customer service expectations
  • Ability to function independently in a team environment
  • Professional appearance and stable work history
  • Bachelor’s degree in related Business Management or related field preferred
  • Experience in the Fire and Life Safety service industry

Other Functions

  • Check flow and pressure levels in the systems to make sure they comply with insurance company standards and national codes, with a focus on NFPA25 compliance
  • Prepare and develop proposals or sales contracts and make notes of repairs, deficiencies or modifications performed on any systems
  • Visit the work site to deliver or count stocked parts
  • Manage personnel, create work schedules and review finished work orders for proper details
  • Verify finished inspection reports; fire pumps, standpipes and fire sprinklers meet compliance requirements, with a concentration with compliance of NFPA 25
  • Other responsibilities and tasks, as assigned by your Supervisor(s), or as required
