What You'll Do:

  • Performing prospect research on federal, state, and local agencies / programs, foundations, and corporations to evaluate grant opportunities; network and develop relationships to facilitate grant acquisition.
  • Researching, analyzing, compiling, and presenting complex data from a variety of sources in order to communicate and reinforce difficult concepts and to communicate large amounts of quantifiable data for grant proposals.
  • Data is presented in a variety of formats such as graphs, maps, charts, illustrations, tables, diagrams, flow charts, plain text and other formats as needed.
  • With the help of the Controller, preparing complex grant budgets in a variety of formats.
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining the budget spreadsheet template and budget narrative template for use by the Controller.
  • Maintaining the necessary records, files, reports, databases, and resource material pertinent to grants activities to ensure effective grants office operation and compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
  • Writing sections of grant proposals such as budget narratives, personnel, and Hamilton Health Center description sections.
  • Creating and/or gathering supporting material for grant proposals such as job descriptions, resumes, maps, organizational charts, bibliographies, tables of contents and forms.
  • Researching funding sources and disseminating information on funding opportunities to other staff.
  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring Hamilton’s external and internal websites. Creating online interactive surveys and captures the results in spreadsheet format.
  • Performing a variety of administrative support activities to ensure that personnel and proposal requirements are met in a timely manner.
  • Coordinating the work of other office support staff assisting with grant related projects.
  • Performing special projects and other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Healthcare Knowledge: A fundamental understanding of healthcare services and basic medical terminology.
  • Tech-Savvy:
    1. Must be proficient using spreadsheet, word processing, database and presentation software and must have experience integrating software applications to produce complex documents.
    2. Demonstrated experience in HTML coding and/or web specific software is required. Must have knowledge of techniques used for online database research.
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Team Player: An industrious and cooperative nature to foster harmonious working relationships with clinic management, physicians, clinicians, and the public.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Business Communication, English, Journalism or related area.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One (1) year of working experience in FQHC or health system.
  • Two (2) years of Grant Writing or Grant Research
  • Knowledge of The Joint Commission regulations
