Civil Estimator

Hellas Construction, a self-performing Civil Sports Construction Company is looking to expand our Estimating Team in our Lakewood, Colorado location. Qualified candidates will possess 4-5 prior years’ experience estimating civil construction projects. Projects range from $200K-$25M. Average project is typically $1.2-$1.5M.

Responsibilities included, but not limited to:

• Construction document review, performing accurate takeoff for civil construction related quantities
• Submitting requests for information to clarify existing conditions and proposed improvement, submission to responsible design professional in a timely manner
• Developing materials and subcontractor resources and relationships in all market area
• Building estimating; quantity takeoff, solicitation and scope review
• Analyzing and evaluating existing historical cost data to determine pricing
• Providing value engineering options to optimize successful contract award opportunities
• Preparing and soliciting bid requests for subcontractors
• Reviewing quotes for scope compliance and buyout opportunities
• Performing site visits on future bids to determine existing conditions and proposed scope of work
• Attending pre-construction meetings to gather all pertinent data
• Project phase and resource scheduling
• Prepare thorough documentation files for hand off to operations department for implementation of projects

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree from accredited college or university in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• Prefer 5+ years’ experience in Civil Construction Estimating to include concrete, asphalt, aggregates, fencing, electrical, landscaping, irrigation, liner and pipe etc.
• Storm water and sewer utilities highly preferred
• Must be able to work in the US without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.

This position will work out of the Colorado office Monday - Friday.
Salary will be based off experience level.
