UX/UI Design Intern

Science Systems and Applications, Inc. (SSAI) is seeking an UX/UI Design Intern to support an exciting project at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) for the summer of 2024. We are looking for an intern to help develop a web-based tool for exploring diagnostics produced by Earth system modeling experiment runs. Intern will lead the design and branding of web application as well as provide expertise on user experience best practices.
Responsibilities include:
- Participation in team meetings and other member focus groups
- Brainstorm front-end designs given web application requirements
- Develop and evaluate front-end prototypes
- Work with team members to deploy finalized front-end design
- Undergraduate/graduate student with a background in human-computer interaction, graphic design, and/or computer science
- Proven record of design experience, particularly with front-end website development
- Prior programming experience
- Permanent Residency or US Citizenship required.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with tools such as Django and React is a plus
