-------------------------------------------------------------

If you ever watch PBS, and see a short 4-5 minute interesting program broadcast in between the scheduled programs -- it’s probably a “SPOTLIGHT ON.”

Although WE create and produce the actual television programs, we need Associate Producers to call on potential underwriters, briefly explain the show, and get them to underwrite (pay for) a program.

Perhaps the following paragraph best describes us:

“Spotlight On” has been airing for 30 years now, a very long time in our profession! We produce 4-6 minute segments that air at the beginning and or end of a Public Television program. These are short, interesting and educational programs that also can have a PR slant, so long as it’s educational and of Public interest.

Our client list includes hundreds of well known and respected national councils, associations, institutes, societies and Fortune 500 companies. If your organization would like a promotion or media initiative that tells a story about itself, its industry, product, service or a beneficial social cause that enhances its image, allow us to offer you an alternative choice that guarantees 500 national airings over three months to an active and educated audience of 3+ million people - nearly two times the coverage of CNN & the Discovery Channel.

This, in the nutshell, is your job! Most of our Associate Producers find their job to be mentally stimulating, because they call on organizations involving almost any subject, issue, or social cause that interests them. If for example, you like animals, you can call on hundreds of associations or organizations involving everything from animal rights causes - to Greyhound dog racing. From Saddlebred Show horses, to the Wildlife Conservation Society, or the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Kennel Club or Arabian horses. We’ve produced shows for all these organizations!

When you call upon an association or large corporation - you’ll usually speak with their Director of Communications, Public Relations, Advertising or Media - they’ll usually be quite receptive to you because you represent something they want . . . national television exposure at a low cost, as there’s no charge for air time on Public television.

Each “Spotlight On” program comes with a guarantee of 500 national airings (we generally get nearly double that), and a guaranteed 3 million viewers (we generally get 4-6 million) all documented with a Nielsen-based monitoring report.

There’s nowhere on television today, for $33,000 - that you can get these minimums. You’ll find, you can’t look at a magazine, or read a newspaper without getting several ideas of interested Underwriters.

To learn more details of what you’ll be doing, look here . . . www.trivue.org and read through the first few pages of our website. It’ll tell you all about our program.

What is the job?

The Associate Producer position is a part-time (or full time) sponsorship acquiring sales job for Spotlight On.

The Associate Producer calls and educates potential sponsors about the show, the PBS audience, viewership and Nielsen ratings; while explaining to the sponsor how “Spotlight On” can elucidate the sponsor’s message or concept. Most Associate Producers will work about 20-25 hrs per week, but your time is totally flexible.

Compensation:

You will receive 15% commission of the total billing of the program (programs are $33,000, so you’ll get ~ $5,000 per show upon our receipt of deposit. We pay commissions in full immediately upon receiving the underwriter’s first payment.
