Essential Function:

You will be responsible for the development and management of the Process Engineering Department reporting to the Director of Manufacturing Engineering. Primarily responsible for ensuring continual improvement related to process, cost, production, and overall quality of the products to meet best in class capability. This will include driving improvements to existing production processes, conversions to new processes and equipment, and reducing process costs. You and your team will be responsible for delivering high capability in a variety of Silicon processes including but not limited to Cleaning, Chemical Etch, Lap, and Polishing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage, Develop, & Coach engineers responsible for cross functional manufacturing systems. Improve and maintain processes by developing, validation, change control, process risk management, and root cause investigations.
  • Support validation and change management as a technical/process expert
  • Drive the development and implementation of process engineering design and equipment standards to meet safety, utilization, and yield metrics.
  • Investigate, drive, and assist in implementation of cost saving projects, process optimization, and productivity improvements related to existing processes.
  • Collaborate with the Development team to implement, qualify, and drive continuous improvements in next generation processes and equipment.
  • Responsible for managing the budget, timing, prioritization, and critical deliverables of the team to meet the Annual Operating Plan (AOP)

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, you must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Requires a bachelor’s or master’s Degree in an Engineering or Science discipline (B. S.) or equivalent; and at least eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum 4 years of experience directing technical resources.
  • Ability to perform complex analysis and deliver a strong technical solution is required.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally within Silfex, customers, and suppliers is required.
  • Ability to analyze and drive process capability based on data analysis and business needs.
  • Ability to prioritize activities for the team and provide a strong technical and business case.
  • Ability to conceptualize and develop new processes to improve performance and meet customer requirements.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including ability to manage through ambiguity, while demonstrating courage as required. Influence decision making through supporting data, presentation skills, and communication style.
  • Statistical analysis, validation, and process improvement experience. Risk management and Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) experience is required.
  • Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner and globalizing the solution. This applies to both production processes and business processes owned by Engineering department.
  • Project Management - Develops project plans and communicates changes, progress, and risks through the projects.
  • Innovation - Displays original thinking, creativity and resourcefulness which generate innovative approaches and ideas.
  • Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to production personnel, top management and public groups.
  • Ability to utilize computer applications such as; PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Manufacturing software (ERP/MES), Database software, and Statistical programs (Minitab/JMP)


Physical Demands:

The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds. The employee regularly is required to lift up to 10 pounds. The vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the environment is moderate.
