JL Racing/JL Sports Social Media Marketing Internship

We are seeking an enthusiastic Social Media Marketing Intern to join our lean & mean JL Racing & JL Sports marketing team! The ideal candidate will be dedicated, self-starting, proficient writer, and eager to learn the ins and outs of Social Media Marketing. Through this process, they can develop their social media, SEO, content creation, and digital marketing skills. Their role is to create and implement online marketing strategies through various social media platforms for our various performance apparel sports brands. They will assist with maintaining social media platforms with daily posts, caption generation, and engagement.

As a marketing intern, you will collaborate with our marketing team in all stages of social media marketing campaigns and management. You can use your creativity to assist with content creation, graphic design, photoshoot opportunities, and influencer management. Your insightful contribution will help develop, expand, and maintain our marketing channels. This internship will help you acquire marketing skills and provide you with knowledge of various marketing and social media strategies. Ultimately, you will gain broad experience in marketing/communications and should be prepared to enter any fast paced work environment.

Work Remote: USA Based - Fully Remote
Terms: Full-Time Summer Internship
Equipment Requirements: Computer & Smart Phone
Pay: For Class Credit
Time Frame: The internship will last around five months, from May to September 2024. We are open to alternative time frames if needed. The schedule is flexible, Monday through Friday.

Marketing Intern Responsibilities:

· Assist with the design and execution of social media campaigns and daily posts

· Write social media captions that speak to JL’s target audience (Sports teams, sports clubs, sports programs at universities)

· Create engaging text, image, and video content

· Help create and edit short-form videos

· Develop new strategies for increasing engagement

· Track social media engagement to identify high-performing ideas and campaigns for scalability

· Assist with photo/video content shoots

· Assist with the JL brand ambassador program

· Assist with creative design with graphics and concepts

· Assist with our influencer program

· Ensure the brand message is consistent

Social Media Intern Qualifications, Skills & Qualities:

· Avid self-learner passionate about the digital marketing industry and social media, specifically.

· Familiar with the newest trends in athletic wear and social media marketing. A sports or athletic background is a plus. We create custom performance apparel for Rowing, Baseball, Softball, Football, Basketball, Soccer, Volleyball, Track, and Cycling.

· Wants experience handling multiple business social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, TikTok, YouTube, etc.)

· Able to receive and communicate feedback effectively.

· Familiarity with content scheduling tools, like Hootsuite, a plus.

· Familiarity with graphic design, like Adobe Illustrator, a plus.

· Be creative and outgoing.

· A “Count me in, coach” type of team player attitude.

· Professionalism.

· Customer focus.

· Background in sports preferred.

· Current enrollment in a related BA/BS degree preferred.
