Job Description

SUMMARY

Cookie’s Department Stores is a children’s clothing retailer with 5 locations throughout Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx, as well as an e-commerce website with CookiesKids.com.

We are looking for someone with advanced computer knowledge and basic helpdesk experience for a position as an IT helpdesk technician. As an IT tech at Cookie’s, you will work directly under the Director of IT, assisting with the upkeep and support of critical systems, as well as rolling out and troubleshooting new projects.

The position is mainly situated at our office in Downtown Brooklyn, but will occasionally require travel to retail stores in Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain IT helpdesk ticket system / answer support calls
  • Answer support calls/tickets when stores or offices need assistance
  • Support POS Software for retail stores, warehouse, and office (Training will be provided for our POS and back-end systems)
  • Troubleshoot issues / report bugs
  • Manage installations and updates
  • Hardware Installation and Support
    • PCs / Registers / Printers (Requires some occasional heavy lifting)
  • Network support and maintenance
  • Monitor/troubleshoot network devices
  • Guide managers through equipment reboots
  • Perform site visits to stores when necessary
  • Wi-Fi
    • Set up access points / mobile devices
    • Test signal reception
  • Windows OS installation and support
  • Installation and support of Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, and various custom software
  • Maintain domain accounts with Microsoft Active Directory
  • E-mail
    • Set up e-mail profiles in Outlook / mobile devices
    • Manage accounts and troubleshoot problems

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • At least One Year Experience as a Level 1 Help Desk Support Technician
  • Knowledge of computer networking / Internet Protocol
  • Proficiency in Windows 7 through 10
  • Experience using common Windows apps, such as MS Word and Excel
  • Able to occasionally travel to other Cookie’s locations in Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx
  • Communication skills - Must be able to troubleshoot technical issues with users who may not be tech savvy

 

PREFERRED TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Certified Microsoft Certified Network Professional
  • Retail Business systems experience
  • Inventory management
  • Point of Sale systems
