Business Development Manager

Mueller Corporation, a growing industrial coatings applicator focusing on Defense, Aerospace, Medical and Technologies industries, has an immediate opening for a Business Development Manager. The individual will be responsible for identifying and capturing business development opportunities. The Business Development Manager will report to the President and CEO and will interface with all departments within the company, as well as outside marketing services.

Job Function

• Identify and capture business development opportunities.
• Active industry conference attendee/participant.
• Develop and extend relationships into other coatings applications.
• Identify/substantiate internal R&D initiatives.
• Own the development of new business.
• Map the Industrial Coatings industry landscape, supply chain and key players in each market segment.
• Develop strategies to partner and penetrate attractive market segments.
• Identify sales channels within an industry supply chain.
• Work with marketing to select and drive promotional activities to support successes and the brand in Industrial Coating markets.
• Prospect and bring opportunities to fruition where they may be handed off to internal sales.
• Deliver tangible results ultimately measured by Mueller Corporations revenue and profitability in the new market selected for development.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Proven experience in technical sales or business development within the coatings industry, with a strong understanding of coating process and materials.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships, driving customer loyalty and repeat business.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a results-oriented mindset and a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.
• Self-motivated and goal-driven, with a passion for driving sales growth and exceeding targets.
• Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients, attend industry events, and support business development activities.
• High energy, self-reliant and high degree of initiative.
• Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office programs and document and presentation preparation.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering.
