We're on the hunt for a dynamic People Operations Specialist to become a key architect of our HR strategies. Location:

  • This role will be located onsite at our HQ in San Mateo, CA

Responsibilities:

  • Translating the business strategy to a people strategy including, but not limited to: organizational health and effectiveness, creation of workforce principles and planning, location strategy, mission-vision-strategy and values with Joyous culture in mind, etc.
  • HR Policies and Processes: Create scalable HR policies and processes to support our expansion and ensure policy compliance across all levels and alignment with our core values.
  • Building and implementation of cross organizational processes
  • Performance Management: Develop and oversee a performance review system tailored to our company size, fostering continuous feedback and growth.
  • Culture and Employee Development: Spearhead initiatives to enhance workplace culture, including leadership training, continuous education programs, and employee development plans focusing on internal mobility and skill enhancement.
  • Internal Communication: Design and implement effective communication strategies to share high-level plans and growth opportunities with the workforce, ensuring transparency and engagement.
  • Workplace Experience: Enhance the workplace experience to align with our philosophy of joy, including understanding and integrating the benefits of psychedelics in fostering a positive and innovative work environment.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of HR experience, ideally in a fast-growing company.
  • Demonstrated experience in performance management, HR policy development, and HR practices.
  • Strong understanding of leadership development, employee engagement strategies, and continuous learning programs.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively convey high-level plans and engage with the workforce.
  • Deep understanding of the philosophy of joy and openness to the positive aspects of psychedelics.
  • Certification or experience in HRBP (Human Resources Business Partner) is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage across cultures and geographies.
SF Bay Area Range
$120,000—$160,000 USD
