Job Summary
This position exists to coordinate the administration of Minnesota's state and community highway safety program by planning, coordinating, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating state-wide traffic safety projects designed to reduce traffic crashes, deaths, and injuries.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Two years of professional level experience developing, negotiating, and monitoring projects OR Bachelor's degree plus one year of professional experience developing, negotiating and monitoring projects.
- One year experience with developing and monitoring budgets for projects or grants.
- Knowledge of and experience with the use of traffic safety countermeasures including education and enforcement efforts.
- Experience writing reports, procedures, plans, and correspondence sufficient to provide clear and thorough information.
- Experience with traffic safety incident management.
- Human relations ability sufficient to interact positively and tactfully with co-workers and a large variety of public groups.
- Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and underserved communities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with programs and procedures of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
- Knowledge of and experience with the enforcement and safety advocate communities in the state.
- Experience with an electronic grant management system.
Physical Requirements
Requires occasionally moving and transporting such articles as file folders and small tools. May need to maintain a stationary position for long periods of time while carrying out job duties.
