Job Description
Our client is a large World Class Tier I automotive supplier with nearly 20,000 employees. This successful company is in the process of filling an MAINTENANCE MANAGER position.
The company seeks a Maintenance Manager that brings a strong background of leadership in the hands on Maintenance Leadership arena.
The company seeks a candidate that has had a progressive and stable background in their field.
The successful candidate will have 3 to 8 years experience working as Maintenance Manager or similar within a high paced manufacturing environment. Plastic Injection Molding experience will be a plus.
The successful candidate will have a good graps of working with a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) in order to work with and through the daily tasks as well as PM.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manages all activities related to operations and development of company products by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
- Develops and maintains manufacturing operations business plans to include all program requirements, labor hours, cycle, production costs, and image.
- Provides input to the development of product strategy and research and development of new and emerging products.
- Establishes production and quality control standards, develops budget and cost controls, and obtains data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.
- Provides guidance to the development of a manufacturing process plan, including personnel requirements, material needs, subcontract requirements, facility needs, and tooling and equipment needs.
- Ensures all established costs, quality, and delivery commitments are met.
- Coordinates manufacturing activities with all other functions of the organization and suppliers to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
- Reviews production and operating reports and directs the resolution of operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
- Performs administrative activities associated with the effective management of shop operations, including compiling, storing, and retrieving production data for reports.
- Lead and develop the operations team
- Work with human resources to maintain a positive Management/Union Relationship
- Determines responsibilities of assigned organization and staff positions to accomplish business objectives.

Experience/Education
- Minimum 5 years of operations management experience required
- Minimum 2 years automotive Tier 1 materials management experience preferred
- Experience in an automotive manufacturing environment preferred
- Experience in injection molding preferred
- Proven leadership abilities
- Excellent MS Office tools fluency, especially Excel
- Experience with QAD preferred
- Self-directed, detail oriented, reliable, and strong initiative
- Ability to communicate effectively and work with leaders, peers, and others as required
Qualifications
Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct the activities of all maintenance personnel
- Establish and maintain inventory of equipment parts and miscellaneous supplies
- Contact vendors and contractors relative to engineering and maintenance projects
- Coordinate contractor work and track and review their performance
- Implement and coordinate effective equipment Preventative Maintenance Program
- Utilize a software package that facilitates data collection and provides scheduling of work
- Maintain the efficient operation of heating systems and related components, compressed air system, refrigeration systems, chilled water systems, and ventilation systems
- Maintain plant fire protection system
- Establish and control a spare parts inventory
- Document and track parts inventory
- Document and track part usage with reference to installation date of the repair part
- Develop a spare parts list that documents vendor, cost, and lead-time of each recommended spare part in inventory
- Participate in equipment layout reviews and strategic planning for equipment relocation
- Contract outside utility suppliers and equipment movers as necessary
- Operate the Maintenance Department within the allocated budget
- Plan part purchases by strategic planning with the Accounting Department
- Provide for training of the Maintenance Personnel relative to new equipment and vendor specific repair programs
- Timely and consistent administration of the Labor Agreement
- Perform regular safety audits of plant and shop equipment areas
- Assist in settling complaints in his/her area and in general, promote harmonious work relations
- Schedule overtime as necessary and implement discipline as required
- Promote harmonious labor relationship plant wide, and on each shift
- Responsible for the redistribution of labor as needed
- Ensure that ISO 14001 Environmental requirements are understood by outside contractors
- Ensure required Maintenance areas are in TS 16949, ISO 14001, Corporate Directives, State and Federal Regulatory compliance
- Receive additional tasks from Plant Technical Manager
- Coordinate or delegate those tasks and follow up until completion
Qualifications
- Associates Degree or 2 – 3 years’ experience in related field
- 3 – 5 years manufacturing or plant maintenance experience
- Supervisory skills
- Written and verbal communications skills
