Associate Chief Nursing Officer (Patient Care Services) - FT/80

As a member of the Hospital's senior management team, the Assistant Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) will:

• Participate in functional decision-making processes necessary to the successful attainment of the hospital's mission, in addition to maintaining an awareness of changes in healthcare clinical matters that could have an impact on the success of the hospital.
• Oversee multiple departments within the hospital as assigned and work collaboratively with other leaders and internal stakeholders to develop, maintain and improve patient care programs and operations.
• Report directly to the CNO and in the absence of the CNO, the ACNO may be required to interpret hospital policy and provide guidance.

• Must possess a bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited school.
• Master’s degree (preferred)
• Minimum of five (5) years of nurse leadership experience with demonstrated outcomes. Three (3) of the last five (5) years of leadership must have been in a direct contact leadership role in a hospital setting or direct patient care environment OR equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• Current Vermont Registered Nurse (RN) license or multistate RN license without restrictions within the state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Project Management skills

• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with hospital staff, physicians, patients, and patient’s families.
• Ability to maintain confidential information concerning personal, financial, or medical matters.
