Launch That embraces a hybrid flexible workplace environment which consists of work-from-home opportunities, with 3 recommended in-office days (T, W, TH) to maximize team collaboration and 2 WFH days (M, F). Looking for an opportunity for hands-on experience as an editor? Then our editorial internship may be for you! This internship runs for 4 months and pays $12.50 per hour. The Editorial Intern must be able to work up to 29 hours a week in a hybrid and flexible workplace.

About This Role

The Editorial Intern is responsible for guaranteeing that content written for ConsumerNotice.org and Drugwatch.com is clean, clear and accurate. You will work alongside award-winning writers and editors to publish articles that have the potential to directly impact our readers' happiness, health, and safety.

Responsibilities include proofreading to fix grammatical, spelling, punctuation and formatting errors; verifying numerical information, such as dates and statistics, to ensure accuracy; and restructuring copy to create better flow and clarity of ideas.

Maintaining a positive, upbeat attitude about various projects and being willing to learn new skills while working hard and smart are essential to being successful as an Editorial Intern.

Day-to-Day

  • Fact-check articles for accuracy.
  • Locate and fix inconsistencies in style, tone and message.
  • Ensure content adheres to style guidelines.
  • Improve sentences for readability and concision.
  • Correct errors in grammar, punctuation and spelling.
  • Ensure content logically and clearly communicates information to the targeted audience.

Quality Impact
  • Work is closely reviewed by the Director of Content and Marketing upon completion.

Team Impact
  • Work collaboratively with team members in your department and cross-departmentally to gain diverse viewpoints. This is an essential investment into our culture and includes identifying needs, pooling strengths and insights and evaluating data for inclusive goal completion to benefit the team and company's strategic goals.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills
  • Upperclassman, recent graduate or someone looking to make a career change.
  • Formal education in writing-intensive discipline (Journalism, communications, public relations, marketing, English or similar).
  • Previous internship or work experience in a professional editing environment.
  • Passion for grammar and accuracy.
  • Exceptional understanding of language with a curiosity for knowledge and a meticulous eye for detail.
  • Mastery of AP style.
  • Adaptive to change.
  • Impeccable organizational and critical thinking skills.
  • Deadline-oriented mindset.
