Job Description

Contractor Overview

  1. The Talent Acquisition Coordinator supports end-to-end recruiting practices. This position is responsible for coordinating and assisting with sourcing, evaluating, and onboarding talent for potential opportunities. The Talent Acquisition Coordinator collaborates closely with hiring managers to understand recruitment needs, develop hiring strategies, and ensure a seamless recruitment experience for candidates.
  2. All independent contractors/vendors are expected to respect diverse ideas, races, genders, sexualities, abilities, cultures, and religions, and contribute to working in an anti-racist theatre committed to the values of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access (IDEA).
  3. Contractor agrees to furnish Services as an independent contractor and not as an employee of OSF. Nothing in this arrangement shall be construed to create a partnership or employer/employee relationship between Contractor and OSF. As an independent contractor, Contractor is not entitled to benefits. Further, Contractor is solely responsible for reporting and paying all taxes due and owing as a result of payment for Services.

Pay rate: $30 hourly

Contract length: June 2024 to January 2025

Organizational Background

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) was founded in 1935 in Ashland, OR, and has grown from a three-day festival of two plays to a nationally renowned theatre arts organization that presents a rotating repertory season of up to 10 plays and musicals, including illuminating interpretations of Shakespeare, other enduring classics, and new works. OSF productions have been presented on Broadway, internationally, and at regional, community, and high school theatres across the country. OSF received the 1983 Special Tony Award for Outstanding Regional Theatre and is one of the largest nonprofit theatres in the nation with three stages, including an outdoor Allen Elizabethan Theatre.

Responsibilities:

  1. Work closely with hiring managers to determine recruitment needs and develop a hiring strategy for each role.
  2. Perform proactive sourcing to fill open positions and anticipate future workforce needs.
  3. Plan and conduct recruitment and selection processes, including interviews, screening calls, and assessments.
  4. Communicate effectively with candidates to ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.
  5. Foster and maintain professional relationships with existing employees to support talent development and retention efforts.
  6. Utilize metrics and data analysis to track recruitment metrics, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to improve the effectiveness of our recruitment processes.
  7. Onboarding (backup)

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Develop best practices around utilizing UKG, train managers as needed in the use of the software.
  2. Provide weekly snapshots of all recruiting work.
  3. Assist in other HR duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, or related field strongly preferred.

Work Experience:

  1. At least 1 year of experience as a Recruiter, Talent Acquisition Specialist, or similar role. Internship included.
  2. Familiarity with applicant tracking systems and HR software (UKG preferred)
  3. Knowledge in the theater/music/performance industry preferred.
  4. Experience in non-profit industry strongly preferred.

Qualifications/skills:

Familiarity with strategic recruiting processes and basic HR KPIs. Basic understanding of employment law and personnel administration. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to listen, speak, and write effectively. Detail-oriented and able to maintain accuracy in work.

Excellent team player. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and proactively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Physical Ability:

Ability to perform administrative work using a computer for extended periods of time; up to 8 hours a day. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

Hours Requirements: Expected 40 hours weekly, with an expected schedule of “regular” work on Monday through Friday, generally between 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. OSFʼs artistic positions follow a different schedule, with work hours on Tuesdays through Sundays, at varying times. Therefore, night-time and weekend hours are sometimes required.
