Description

The Director of Information Technology (IT) is responsible for leading and managing the IT department, ensuring the effective delivery of technology solutions and support services to meet the organization's needs. This role involves overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of IT systems and infrastructure, as well as providing strategic direction to align technology initiatives with business objectives. The Director of IT is also tasked with managing IT budgets, evaluating emerging technologies, and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Strategic Planning:
• Develop and implement IT strategies and initiatives to support the organization's overall goals and objectives.
• Collaborate with senior management to identify technology needs and opportunities for innovation.
• Establish IT priorities and roadmap, ensuring alignment with business priorities and resource allocation.

IT Operations and Infrastructure:
• Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT systems, networks, and infrastructure to ensure reliability, security, and scalability.
• Monitor and analyze IT performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practices for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, security standards, and data protection policies.

Project Management:
• Manage IT projects from initiation to completion, including planning, budgeting, resource allocation, and risk management.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with business needs and timelines.
• Monitor project progress, resolve issues, and communicate updates to key stakeholders.

Vendor Management:
• Evaluate and select technology vendors, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships to ensure quality products and services are delivered within budget and on schedule.
• Monitor vendor performance and address any issues or concerns in a timely manner.

Budgeting and Cost Control:
• Develop and manage the IT department budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and cost control measures are in place.
• Track IT expenditures, analyze variances, and make recommendations for optimization and cost savings.

Stakeholder Communication:
• Communicate IT plans, initiatives, and performance metrics to the leadership team, managers, and supervisors.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and provide technology solutions and support.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience (5 years) in a leadership role within an IT department, with a track record of successfully managing technology initiatives and teams.
• Strong knowledge of IT systems, infrastructure, and emerging technologies.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
• Experience in strategic planning, budgeting, and vendor management.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
