Job Description

(Chicago/Hybrid) The Multi-Media Editor will work with the production, education, and editorial teams to produce and edit content for our digital and social presence across a variety of platforms. As the Multi-Media Editor, you will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, vendors and partners. This position will also help leverage audio and visual storytelling on various platforms to grow The Fellowships awareness and expand our reach through filming, recording, editing, and producing video and audio content. This position reports directly to the Production Manager and is based in our downtown Chicago headquarters. We are a hybrid office with a 3-day-a-week office policy.

We are seeking an individual with a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications or equivalent education and related experience. Additional experience including a minimum of 3-5 years of experience with a non-profit organization, media organization, marketing agency, or non-profit agency or website. Experience with vendor management and project planning and storyboarding. Filming, editing, audio/podcasting experience required. Digital, Social & Omnichannel experience required. Animation skills preferred.

Essential Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Content Development: Work with the production team and key stakeholders to create a range of multimedia content including photography, video, illustration, animated elements of videos, audio recordings and podcasts.
  • Production Processing: Lead our post-production process and edit a variety of content for the organization’s multi-faceted channels and social media needs.
  • Team Organization Collaboration: Work with our global team to hire photographers, videographers, and illustrators for long-form investigative and explanatory pieces.
  • Vendor Partnership: Work with outsourced partners, editors and production vendors, ensuring quality management and delivery of high-quality production work.

Technical & Individual Skills:

  • Strong sense of visual storytelling.
  • Experience executing every aspect of production on videos and podcasts.
  • Ability to strategically develop content across multiple channels and various audiences.
  • A team player with excellent interpersonal, presentation and writing/communication skills
  • Build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Hands-on approach to assist the team with creating quality videos.
  • Strong experience in project management
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously with competing deadlines.
  • Expertise in Adobe Premiere, WordPress, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects or comparable software.
  • Broad understanding of video production, shooting video, recording audio as well as production equipment, process and editing/post-production skills.
