ABOUT CHIEF'S

Chief's is a six-story bar, restaurant, and live music venue designed to celebrate Eric Church's ever-expanding musical legacy. Located in historic downtown Nashville, Chief's will feature a ticketed music venue, inspirational interiors, and a thoughtful focus on unique live performances, offering fans an unparalleled entertainment experience in Music City. Chief's will house a studio for live broadcasting, inclusive of Church's Outsiders Radio SiriusXM channel, with the capability of hosting broadcasts by various media partners. Chief's will also feature a restaurant partnership with James Beard Award Winning Pitmaster Rodney Scott. Rodney Scott's Whole Hog BBQ will overlook downtown with its 'Hell of a Q' rooftop offering. Situated at the intersection of 2nd Avenue and Broadway, Chief's is set to open at 200 Broadway.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Business Manager is responsible for certain accounting and HR functions at Chief's on Broadway. This role will be responsible for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, HR compliance, onboarding, reporting, and directly assisting the General Manager (GM) with other financial activities.

Tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Verify and record accurate sales and settlement figures for live shows, events, & food and beverage
  • Lead coordination & processing of accounts receivable and accounts payable for the venue in accordance with provided policy
  • Own the daily income audit and journal preparation
  • Assist with physical banking and general cash management
  • Assist with venue reporting to ensure proper departments are being charged and are in line with budget expectations
  • Handle vendor inquiries, reconcile vendor statements, and manage vendor relationships to ensure accurate financials
  • Manage all client inquiry/requests for financial information
  • Research and dispute credit card chargebacks when applicable
  • Ensure event clients are aligned with contracted terms from a financial standpoint through event completion
  • Assist in the recruitment process for hourly employees by scheduling interviews, coordinating candidate communications, and facilitating new hire onboarding procedures, including new hire paperwork.
  • Promptly report employee relations issues, public liability, worker's compensation concerns, and other potential liabilities to the General Manager and Shared Service contacts in accordance with company policy.
  • Aid in hourly payroll processing by verifying timekeeping records, calculating tips & wages, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations and company policies.
  • Help generate HR reports and analyze data related to employee demographics, turnover rates, or other HR metrics to support decision-making.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client and employee information

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Minimum 2 years bookkeeping and Human Resources experience
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills to work with cross-functional teams, negotiate for resources and influence stakeholders, and gain acceptance of and commitment to plans, ideas, initiatives, etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to prepare and deliver reports, presentations, and facilitate meetings
  • Strong experience creating and working with Excel spreadsheets
  • Highest level of integrity and transparency

Preferred

  • Experience working in Tripleseat, Toast, Resy, TixR, Fintech, iSolved, Hot Schedules, and/or Shopify applications
  • Experience in a hospitality environment, specifically with a non-exempt employee population

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


  • Ability to perform physical requirements of position including standing for extended periods of time, kneeling, stooping, using stairs, able to lift loads of up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to work rapidly, especially during peak periods to ensure that all guests are being serviced properly and necessary operational tasks are being completed in a timely manner
  • Ability to sustain loud noise volume
