Job Description
Hino Motors Manufacturing is an OEM that assembles trucks in West Virginia, automotive components in Arkansas, and operates a parts distribution center in California.

We are currently seeking a Machining Engineer for HMM located in Marion, AR reporting directly to Engineering Manager. This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing process improvements for CNC machining operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Continuous improvement of equipment, tooling and gauging
  • Sequencing of operations
  • Human factors – ergonomic consideration
  • Efficient material flow
  • Supporting improvements ensuring high-yield and productivity
  • Analyzing production results and data for root cause analysis
  • Providing technical direction to and oversight of external vendor sources and internal maintenance and operations teams, to solve urgent and complex problems by identifying and evaluating alternatives and solutions
  • Select techniques to solve problems and make sound process and programming recommendations to support machining production and assess results to meet the established design standard and meet customer specifications.
  • Review and act on machining non-conformances and customer complaints
  • Own investigation, troubleshooting, and improvement of machining equipment impact on safety, quality, and cost of producing custom designs through machining processes.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • 0 - 3 years’ Machining experience.
  • Automotive experience highly desirable.
  • Strong background in Mitsubishi PLC for troubleshooting and creating new logic steps.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of statistical methods as applied to process control
  • Demonstrated knowledge of quality systems and gauging methods
  • Demonstrated knowledge of PFMEAs and control plans
  • Experience with AutoCAD and part and tooling prints
  • Experience with component machining processes including:
  • CNC machining centers and programming
  • Precision grinding processes
  • In-line gauging processes
  • Precision cutting tools and required set-ups
  • Knowledge of Tooling:
  • Speeds, Feeds and Depth of Cut
  • Continuous improvement in Cost, Productivity and Quality
  • Understanding of Gauging:
  • Gauge Design
  • CMM Systems
  • Calibration
  • Sampling Plans

Skills Required:

  • Technical knowledge and ability in process engineering disciplines
  • Critical thinking and an analytical mindset
  • Demonstrate excellent level of analytical ability, communication and interpersonal skills required to build relationships with team members and customers to solve problems and resolve issues
  • Ability to work flexible hours, at times overtime, off-shift support, as well as on-call support
  • Position may require sitting for prolonged periods of time, moving equipment up to 25 pounds.
