Creative Discovery Museum (CDM) is an award-winning nonprofit children's museum in Chattanooga, TN. We are hiring an Advancement Team Intern to join our team. Primary responsibilities will include social media management, marketing campaign support, event assistance, and general support of the Advancement team.
Responsibilities for Advancement Team Intern
Social Media
- Work alongside the team to create a plan for social media strategies monthly and execute this plan through content curation and scheduling
- Assist in the growth of the brand by raising awareness through various social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and TikTok
- Aid in the daily aspects of promoting CDM's campaigns
- Interact with followers and guests by communicating and answering questions through the organization's social pages
- Be aware of trends in social media and be willing to try new ideas
- Collaborate with other Museum staff to ensure content is representative of all departments
- Add upcoming events to relevant online calendars in the Chattanooga area and on social media
Marketing
- Collaborate with marketing team on creation and execution of upcoming campaigns, including fall temporary exhibit, back-to-school initiatives, and upcoming event and program communication
Other Duties (as needed)
- Assist with events
- Assist with mailings (stuffing, postage, etc.)
- Assist with creating news/copy for newsletters
Preferred Qualifications for Advancement Team Intern
- Pursuing a degree in business, marketing, journalism, public relations, communications, or related field
- 1-2 years of social media management experience
- Familiar with multi-social posting through programs such as Hootsuite and Later
- Comfortable working with Canva and/or Adobe
- Understanding of CRM database systems, preferably Salesforce
- General knowledge of Search Engine Optimization and internet ranking for web content
- Entry level experience determining how to cater unique marketing campaigns to a unique audience
- Ability to work alongside a diverse group of employees and simultaneously work toward many company initiatives at once
Hours/Pay
- 15 hours per week, May through July (start and end date to be mutually agreed upon)
- Flexible, some weekend or evening work may be requested
- $10/hour
