Overview:
This amazing client and luxury brand is looking for an experienced and exceptional leader and digital copy editor to work in the Brand Copy department. The person in this role will be responsible for leading a team of editors managing product copy on all of their websites, and collaborating with all cross-functional partners involved in our site and digital expression. The position demands excellent attention to detail, a team mindset, as well as familiarity and appreciation of luxury retail and lifestyle. This is a permanent, full-time, in office position. The ideal candidate possesses the following: a passion for content and copy, superior written and verbal communication skills, a proactive leadership mentality, and flexibility in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
What you will be doing:
- Live Their Values: People, Quality, Service and Innovation
- Lead a team of editors responsible for implementing product copy and related content on all of their site sites
- Become an expert in their style and brand voice, with deep knowledge of the products, copy attributes, the industry and competitor content and presentation
- Ensure accuracy and consistency of messaging on all digital sites
- Format, edit and implement website copy on our web content management system for new products, existing products and other projects, as required, while working under extremely tight daily deadlines
- Work closely with the Copy PI (product information) team to ensure copy is supplied for all web launches
- Manage team calendar and ensure launch deadlines are met
- Collaborate closely with partners on the Web Merchant, Merchant, Product Development, Copy PI and Digital Creative teams to maintain existing marketing content and ensure it is presented in the most effective and compelling way
- Think strategically and analytically about site merchandising and how copy and educational content can support and elevate the presentation of product while serving and empowering their high-end customer
- Serve as the Copy team’s primary point of contact for company-wide initiatives needing close digital copy partnership, such as translation efforts and CMS migration
- Represent the Copy team’s perspective with respect to all digital efforts, such as ongoing site reimagination and the new iteration of their worldwide portal
What you must have:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 5 years of web copy experience, preferably in retail and home furnishings
- Prior experience managing a team of editors
- Excellent writing, copyediting and proofreading skills
- Extremely detail oriented, relentlessly meticulous, and a stickler for accuracy and consistency
- Excellent organization and prioritization skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects and tight deadlines simultaneously, while paying impeccable attention to detail; logical thinker and creative problem solver
- Prior experience in a deadline-driven production environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Works well independently and also in a team environment; self-starter
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel, Google Workspace and Slack
- Experience with/technical proficiency in web content management systems
- Mac proficiency required
- Proficient in basic HTML
- Ability to work in the office based in Marin County, CA
