Job Description

We are looking for an Account Manager – Counter Sales to join the Riverhawk team. This is an opportunity to join a well-established local company and contribute to the success of the business through supporting the customers who depend on us for industrial supplies. As an Account Manager you will play a vital role in helping our customers place orders and support customer requests related to their orders. This role will be a Counter Sales role based in our Showroom, where you will work with customers face-to-face, on the phone and through email.

 

Key responsibilities for Account Managers focused on Counter Sales:

- Support customers that walk into the Showroom with product questions and order requests

- Process customers’ payments in the Showroom

- Entering orders into the system for customers that walk-in or place orders through will call

- Pulling product from warehouse to fulfill customer orders and help load customer vehicles. This portion of the job is physically demanding

- Support requests (in-person, phone and email) for quotes from customers which includes preparing quotes, incorporating feedback from customers and converting to sales orders

- Research products for customer and ask appropriate questions to ensure we are helping them buy the right item

- Review inventory needs to fill orders and generate procurement orders for special non-stock items when needed

- Resolve customer inquiries and complaints, typically related to answering questions on quotes and order status

- Emphasis on serving existing customers; no cold calling

- Showroom upkeep including restocking shelves, ensuring displays are orderly and presentable, possible inventory counting, and light cleaning

 

Job Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following skills and abilities:

- Strong customer service/support skills (e.g., empathy, care, going above and beyond for customers)

- Excellent written and oral communication skills

- Comfortable in a retail environment supporting various customer needs in the Showroom

- Ability to build rapport and relationships with customers

- Extremely organized, and detailed-oriented; able to capture and keep track of key information (e.g., specific customer requests, deadlines)

- Strong work ethic and ability to self-motivate to complete tasks

- Self-directed while demonstrating time management and multi-tasking skills

- Flexible and able to appropriately prioritize competing priorities

- Sound decision making skills with the ability to navigate through ambiguity

- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced work environment

- Strong technical skills with proficiency or the ability to become proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Notion, Slack and Inform

- Team player who brings a positive attitude

 

Preferred qualifications:

- Demonstrated success in prior retail customer service, customer support or sales role

- Existing knowledge of industrial tools and consumables, metalworking, or welding

 

Requirements

A high school diploma is required and a two-year or four-year degree is a plus. Applicants must consent to a background check and drug screening.

Picking and packing must be performed when customers place in-person or will call pick up orders. The job is physically demanding. Physical requirements include:

  • The ability to stand for long periods
  • The ability to safely lift and carry 60 pound boxes
  • The ability to safely climb ladders
  • The ability to load boxes and products into customer vehicles

 

Schedule and Compensation

This is an hourly role with the starting pay in the range of $20-27/hour and a guaranteed 40 hours per week (which translates to annual gross wages between $41,600 - $56,160). With experience there is an opportunity to earn more, based on company and individual performance. Benefits include access to medical, dental, vision, and 401k retirement plan with a company match. There are 8 paid holidays plus paid time off that begins at 8 days per year and increases with tenure. The typical schedule will be Monday- Friday 8am-5pm with a one hour lunch break at our Mulberry, FL location.
